Isn't that because coaches get fired all the time?

Maybe. It was a pretty impressive run at the time, though--every opposing coach the Warriors faced in the 2015 playoffs and then the coach of their 2016 first round opponent, fired within a year. Donovan and Stotts broke the curse, though.

And the Warriors haven't met the Spurs in the playoffs? That seems wrong.

They hadn't yet faced the Spurs in the playoffs, during the Steve Kerr era, when I made that post (last year).

MINSTREL!

I think Terry is basically a net zero coach - he does very little that adds to or detracts from how the team would perform without a coach. I'd also put a +4/-4 on him, in that from season to season his coaching will add or subtract as many as 4 games from a team's record.

Like you did with @HCP? Don’t be a hypocrite. Start owning your own shit. You whine when @HCP hurts your tender feelings but then come on like a recalcitrant jack wad when it comes to insulting others. Opinions are like assholes....and this forum has a surplus of both those things. Get over it....and yourself. Basketball is just a fucking game. If you can’t keep that in perspective then life is just waiting to dump a pile of shit on top of your head....
Posters always whine about "This shit with HCP", yet never want to stop bringing that up. Guess what.. Guys like you are the reason that shit is still a thing. It's been done with for months.. Let it go for fucks sake.

You're offended because I said Stotts defenders are getting ridiculous. Seriously? That's the least insulting "insult" I've ever heard of.

Its not just Stotts. The whole culture is good, but not elite.
I always remember the remark LMA made about the difference between Portland and the Spurs when he arrived there; and he remarked that the Spurs differ because 'everything is all about winning from the ground all the way to the top, at all times'.

In contrast, from the outside looking in, our culture seems to be good friends cutting each other too much slack & NO accountability.
Think you'll see CJ benched for ball-hogging on the court? Think Dame would be benched for giving up on PnR defense, refusing to run, or jacking threes?
What should happen in the working environment if you make the same mistakes day after day, month after month let alone year after year like this team has? Or refuse to adapt your working methods? Just no professional accountability.

As much as this team is touted as having a great culture - It may be nice to work within, is family friendly and marketable - but it's average at best with regard to producing results on the court.

Riverman gets along with everyone. If you can't get along with him then the problem is with you.
In reading the exchange between you two I would say you're the one ranting.
I'm ranting? So Riverman could single me out and attack me for bullshit (which he's done in the past), but when I say Stotts defenders are getting ridiculous based on false things he's said and how he's claiming that Dwight Jaynes is the reason people want Stotts gone, all of a sudden I'm trying to "find an adversary" and start shit? And now I'm the bad guy?

And then I have UCD up in here ranting about that, and I defend myself, and I'm the one who's ranting?

C'mon man.

This is why coaching in the nba is so hard. The line between discipline and guys saying F you is slim. You cross the line and guys will check out and things will get worse, not better. You don’t demand discipline and you have guys doing their own thing. I think these guys respect Stotts but don’t fear him. Not sure anyone fears Brad Stevens either but they have a ton of respect for him and he doesn’t make many mistakes

True. Take me off as a staff member so these people can shelter themselves from all the disgusting, harmful vile I post.
You're asking UCD to put you on ignore then saying he's trying to shelter himself? whew.......dude, you don't let shit go at all....move on...take your own advice..

Someone's taking my sarcasm a little too seriously.

Listen you motherfuckers, I'm the ranting asshole around here. None of you are in my league.

Learn to rant, then play.

Stotts is well respected by the best coaches out there.....not that they know anything, but he's been runner up for coach of the year...you don't get that if you're a bottom feeding coach..

It's also possible to regress as a coach, lose the locker room, etc.

I don't buy that that is where we're at as a team or coaching staff....as much as many forum members want to use him as a scapegoat....I don't think he deserves that from the fanbase....he's not happy about the close losses....he's said so. He also has his teams playing better as the season progresses...Stotts says his goal is to be peaking as a team come playoff time and the team should be better in March than November.....I agree...it's not like Nurk has had a ton of games to develop veteran chemistry with the roster....and Chief is a gaping hole in the lineup now....Stotts has said as much...Vonleh has played two games...patience brings rewards....which was my point...too early to freak out with 2 losses recently...one good win and everyone will be happy again

What am I taking too seriously? I'm the one getting blasted because I said that I think it's ridiculous to still defend Stotts...

pot kettle black isn't really being blasted unless you don't like pots, kettles, or blacks.

you're the one telling people they don't know what they're talking about..etc......I'm just voicing my opinion....deal with it...Stotts is the one getting blasted...I'm not the guy saying you and I don't get along.....you sort of exposed yourself as seeing me as an adversary when really, I'm just a Blazer fan

Patience? These problems were problems a year ago, and if anything they've gotten worse, while our personnel has gotten better. The improved defense hasn't been due to a scheme or philosophy change.

People need to get ahold of themselves. They are 6-6. They should probably be 8-4. If they were 7-5 you ain't having all these conversations.
Here is a quote. He knows better than we do i assume.
"I respect coach's decision," said Nurkic, who scored 21 points against Brooklyn despite only playing for 53 seconds in the fourth quarter. "And to be honest, I never have a better coach than Stotts. So, there's (not) anything wrong."
Stotts ain't going anywhere. He is just fine. Does he make mistakes? Yes. Would i have done things different last game probably. But you live and learn. Simple

Some will defend Stotts and some want to hang him effigy. However, we can voice and hear the viewpoints of either side and enjoy the conversation in a civil manner.
