This team has zero chance of doing anything in the playoffs. We will get run off the floor. So my preference would be to just shut it down and tank the rest of the year. Get Dame healthy.

This summer I want a new coach. I want CJ traded. I want Melo off the team. I want Nurk gone.

Has anyone thought that maybe Stotts knows his days are numbered and is just going down his way? There’s definitely enough arrogance in him to do something like that, I mean just listen to his responses when he gets even remotely close to called out. Leaving the starters out there last night when the game was over is something one would do to try and make the score look closer than it really was. Pretty much padding his resume. Idk, maybe I’m off. Just trying to understand why there haven’t been any significant adjustments.

“I think we hung our hats on the defensive end in Toronto,” Powell said. “Nick Nurse and that coaching staff was really creative with different coverages, mixing it up.

“I like to say 'junking up' the game a little bit, you know, giving them different looks -- the offense having to second guess and think about what the coverages are… box and one, triangle and two, things like that.

“And guys are able to buy in at the defensive end, where it would lead to everybody being able to contribute at the offensive end. That’s just something that we’ve got to do here, you know.

“Not saying anything about the coverages, but just having that defensive mindset going into the game, being communicative and being tied together on a string. I thought those defensive teams in Toronto were really tied together and it's just something that we have to continue to do here.”

This is the most damning evidence against Terry's defensive schemes, beyond the obvious of just watching his teams. I just hope Powell has the balls to actually influence some change instead of just being a bystander.

It was without a doubt a pretty pathetic answer.
Lets just take the pro Stotts side for instance. Seriously a bunch of us including myself made statements about the defense for most of the season saying things like "They are down 3 starters" and "Jones and Roco can't do it all themselves".
So now they have CJ and Nurk back and have added a competent player in Powell he wants to come back with that?
Seriously Stotts is making it pretty hard at this point to back him.
I'm not an NBA coach at any level. Kjironman is just a fan!!! But i can tell you this three guard lineup is not the answer every game all the time (yes there are times it will work). Jones needs to start. Little needs to get Melo's minutes and Powell should either start over CJ or come in and run the second unit.
At this point you either go all in and try to win games or just shut it down. Honestly. Why are they playing if all they want to do is get Melo points and minutes?
Kanter has his problems but obviously they needed him badly with Nurk on the bench with fouls.
I have another question?
I was watching the game and the 5th foul was called on Nurk. Kanter had just gone out after a long shift. Isn't that when you put Giles in? I fully expected to see Harry for at least 5 mins. Instead we got Nurk playing no defense because he couldn't take a chance at getting a 6th foul. The Blazers absolutely could not play solid defense because they had no player to throw at Gobert.

That is 100% when you put Giles in. They were getting whatever they wanted with Kanter in the game. Now, I also would've been fine with bringing in Kanter and running something different defensively (ice, hedging, trapping, etc) since it was obvious that we had no chance at getting stops with Kanter in and running drop scheme, but if Stotts feels that uncomfortable with having Kanter running something other than drop (which I don't get, since drop was so ineffective last night), then sub in the mobile big who can run those schemes and give us a chance at some defensive stops. We have enough offense in the game to be able to score, we just need to be able to play a lick of defense. Bring Giles in and pressure and try to contain the pick n roll at the point of attack. If you can do that, it neutralizes Gobert a bit instead of putting Kanter in and having him deal with Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert running full speed at them in a 2 v 1 situation. I predicted how bad that'd be at halftime and Stotts still ran it without a single adjustment in the 2nd half. It was frustrating. Sure Nurkic's foul trouble didn't help, but it's he lack of adaptability and proper adjustments that drive me crazy. Problem is, those issues are exposed even more in the playoffs, which is more of a game of chess with the regular season being a game of checkers.

But in regards to Giles, he hasn't been able to get enough burn in my opinion. I feel like they haven't tapped into his skillset at all. One of the reasons I liked the pickup is because he's a very good passing big and it could provide some consistency with Nurkic at the 5, but we haven't utilized that at all. Instead, when he plays he'll catch the ball at the elbow and everyone will wait for him to go 1-on-1 or for him to hand the ball to him. Then he'll go 1-on-1 (which isn't his game), and it won't go too well, then people think he's trash. On the other end, I think he's solid in any scheme other than drop scheme, yet Stotts insists on running drop with him in. Then when he struggles to defend effectively in it, people blame Giles and think he's the problem. I just think the way we do things is a terrible fit for him and if we had a better style of play and weren't so stuck on defending one specific way, he'd look much, much better.

I like your 8 man rotation but 9th should be Ant and Melo off the team. Ant has an upside Melo doesn’t. You can play Ant when there’s a semi blow out either way or injury and he’d get enough minutes to develop him.

I've always been told the Warriors had a great, but small fan base during the lean years. I have no clue how long these anti-Kerr fans have been watching. I agree with you that firing Kerr would not solve the Warriors issues - though he did make a fairly critical coaching error tonight that cost them the game.

The Golden State Warriors have been in San Fran and or Oakland since 1962. Have you ever heard of a guy named Wilt Chamberlain? How about Rick Barry, Joe Fulks? Nate Thurmond? How about Chris Mullen?
They have even had a bunch of the very same coaches Portland has had PJ. Carlisimo, Rick Adleman, Mike Dunleavy, Heck even Dave Twaedzik.

I feel Steve Kerr is a great coach as well but everyone knows he inherited possibly the best situation a coach could ask for and then added another Finals MVP to win his titles. Now is when he has to prove he is a great coach. Do it when things are tough. Heck with Curry, Draymond, Obre, Wiggins he might not make the playoffs. Shouldn't they be at least beating bad teams? Not even saying they should beat all the best teams. Just beat all the teams under .500. He isn't doing that with the greatest shooter in the history of the game. Can you say "wasting his prime"?

It was mostly working class Oakland residents. In fact, their move to Chase Center in San Francisco was controversial because it priced out a lot of their long-time fans who attended their games before they became a big winner.

Interesting... where did I say they didn't have any fanbase? I said MOST of their fanbase didn't exist 10 years ago. MOST being the operative word. You should really pay attention to the WHOLE sentence before getting all riled up. I'm sure the Warriors had fans through all their crap years in the 90s and early 2000s. But when they became the flavor of the month during their initial run and then the Durant years, they became arguably the most popular team in the league. Guess what happens when you become the most popular team in the league with one of the most popular players in the league? That's RIGHT boys and girls! Your fanbase grooooooooooooooooooooooooooooows.
