Mods can you please change the name of this thread to "Fire Stotts"?
I'll bring the tar and feathers. You bring the pitchforks and torches.
Done.
You were serious, right? LOL I thought you might've been joking.
Thibs or ....Luke Walton oO
I'm not exactly a huge Stotts guy, but this roster is kind of a hot mess. Was he a shit offensive coach the past two years when they were making the extra pass and playing an efficient and a (usually) fun-to-watch brand of basketball (at least on offense)? Face it, this team sucks because they barely have any guys who are any good at offense aside from the guards, so those are the guys taking the shots.
Stotts has to work with what he's given.
The roster Neil has built would put any coach in a tough spot.
CJ/Dame/Plumlee are the only real players that we have.
We take a LOT of bad and early shots. This is a symptom of bad coaching. The way we defend the pick and roll is abhorrent.
We've got two identical guys in Lillard and McCollum (all offense, no defense; but no one told Paul Pierce that), and two identical guys in Davis and Plumlee (lots of defense, not much offense). It's a very redundant, unbalanced roster. I don't imagine any coach would relish having this group of misfits shape his career.

Like I said I'm not a huge Stotts guy, so I don't really feel all that great about defending him, but you gotta admit that this collection of cast-offs and never-beens is not exactly designed to play inside-out or break a defense down. They play "rat ball" because they have zero post presence and all the coaching in the world can't turn this frontcourt into offensive basketball players.

Pick and roll defense starts with our guards and as much as I like Damian and McCollum they are kind of shitty on D, particularly the way they deal with screens.
