He certainly looks like the real deal. I'm a fan. I want to see what are own Canadian wunderkind becomes here though.

Nope, we must give up everything for the current shiny object in front of us!

Love the energy from the team since last year's trade. KD, Nurk, and Grant would be a long front line, but would they bring the energy along with Dame? I look at the Lakers and the Nets and I wonder why they didn't work. Is one older vet like Phoenix has .....a good recipe? But not more than one? I would be leery of doing that trade. I would do Grant, Ant, and filler (i.e Brown, Walker Keon, protected 1st) )
Are you still putting Grant is this deal?

Crazy how much can change in exactly 14 days.
I think it's really good that with all of the talk on here about trading Ant and/or Nurk that we have until mid January before they can even be traded. By that time we should have a really good idea of where the team is at then and probably what trajectory the team is on. Regardless of how good the team is doing as a whole it will also give Cronin enough time to see if certain pieces that have trade value are holding us back from being even better

Portland Trail Blazers Receive: C Isaiah Stewart, SG Rodney McGruder

Detroit Pistons Receive: SG Keon Johnson, F Justise Winslow, 2024 second-round pick (more favorable between Charlotte Hornets and Minnesota Timberwolves)

For now, Stewart has held off rookie Jalen Duren for the Pistons' starting center job. Should Duren overtake him at some point, however, the Blazers should make a call about Stewart's availability.

FInding a defensive-minded center behind Jusuf Nurkić would be a huge addition to Portland's rotation, especially someone who can step out and be a floor-spacer on offense like Stewart.

If Detroit hands the keys to Duren, getting back a pair of young players and a second-round pick for Stewart is nice compensation.
Thoughts?

winslow has become too important for us.

but i woulda done that in an instant a month ago.

I haven't watched much of Stewart, but his defensive advanced numbers don't seem great. I like the hustle that Eubanks brings, ideally, I want to swap out Nurk. And don't trust Eubanks or Stewart as our full time 5. I also don't know why Winslow and Magruder are in the deal, really. And does Detroit ant Keon with Cade and Ivey?

what is in it for Detroit? They have already have small talented players.

Hart/filler for Gary Trent Jr

Bring back the gunner to strengthen the second unit

Fight me.

This summer Quick mentioned (before Nurk signed his extension) that Billups wants a mobile/rim-running center.

I’m targeting Onyeka Okongwu if I’m Cronin.

Capela isn’t going anywhere. Onyeka’s best position is at the five.

Filler/1RP (protected) to Houston

Kenyon Martin Jr. to Portland.

He’s putting up 11 ppg despite an unclear role under Silas.

He’d flourish under Billups.

KMJ & Paul Reed are my two trade targets.

I really like Winslow, but Watford fills the same role (and is a better player). I'd love to move Winslow for either KMJ or Reed (and pick up a backup PG on a min contract).

I like the idea of Martin, I hate the idea of going the Olshey route of trading 1st round picks for role players.

I agree except I think that’s what it would take and he’s only 21 — Neil traded picks for bandaids approaching 30.

KJ has untapped potential, especially as a 3D/shotblocker.

raptors fans discussing trading pascal for an Ant package. This may be homer of me, but I’m kind of unwilling to give up Sharpe in any deal like this:

Giving up Simons and Sharpe is asking a lot but that is a pretty good starting five. But the bench still is weak...
That Raptors forum is foaming at the mouth and they are just one game under 500. 100x more complaining about the roster. Sharpe is viewed highly there.

I wouldn't give up Sharpe. Simons + Payton + a future pick, yeah....but not Sharpe

Dame
Hart
Grant
Siakam
Nurkic

looks pretty interesting, although it's kind of weak from the three

Kuzma is turning into an offensive weapon and wants out, either to a contender or a big market. A legitimate 3rd/4th option on a contender imo.

He’s a downgrade defensively but GP2 will fill a big void with his defense and will likely be utilized the same way Golden State used him: hounding pg/sg/sf

He's a big downgrade defensively. He's also most suited for the same position as Grant. Meanwhile Hart is more efficient on offense, a bettr rebounder, and is Portland's glue guy. People underestimate the impact Hart as for Portland, IMO

if Portland is trading Hart I'd hope for a hell of a lot better player coming in than Kuzma, or at least an obvious upgrade...which Kuzma is not. Hart for Kuzma is at best a lateral move that may actually unbalance the roster a bit
