I've been a pretty big Nerlens fan for quite some time but NO! The guy isn't as mobile as he used to be and his athleticism, size and timing on the boards and defense have always been his entire game. Now he doesn't have all of that and he's being paid the most in his career?!? No thanks!

we get legit Nurk insurance and a proven PG who is currently shooting ~40% from 3 who can be counted upon for 15-20 mpg in the playoffs when teams turn up the screws on Ant.

Pay the tax, Jody.

Dame/ Dragic
Ant/ GP2
Hart/Sharpe/Nas
Grant/Winslow
Nurk/Collins/Watford

If healthy, that can be a solid 10 man + rotation in the playoffs and withstand the wears and tears of high minutes.

Looks good to me.

Solid. Not a bad alternative to Poeltl - who has a pretty absurd price tag for a soon-to-be FA.

I have no interest in Zach, part 2. Enough with the injury prone big men who never learn to stop fouling. Zach's averaging 7 fouls per36 this year, when he's not hurt that is...yikes!

rather have Eubanks at 1.8M than Zach at 7.5M

Imagine trying to get rid of the guy who's been our best and most consistent bench player all season...

a lot to unpack. Starting with the reality that some of these stats are more team stats or rotation stats. The two ratings stats are definitely team stats more than individual. And obviously, there's going to be some noise and skew when comparing a player who plays over 30 minutes to one who plays less than 20. And of course rotations will have a big impact on these numbers. For instance, if a player is on the floor a lot with Hart & Winslow his offensive numbers will probably suffer. And yeah, there needs to be allowances for starter vs bench because it's probable the opposition will be less against bench players

as for Eubanks vs Winslow, going by those rankings Eubanks looks like the 2nd most valuable Blazers while Winslow looks like a dud. I think we know neither is true. Winslow's contributions aren't easily measured by stats and of course he acts as Portland's backup PG. And while he's not a lockdown defender, he's solid and versatile. Meanwhile, Eubanks looks statistically better than he really is because he's very high efficiency and very low usage. And he's only averaging 17 minutes (Winslow 28)

* Hart has his flaws and so does Grant. But I have to wonder if they actually do a great job of covering each other's weaknesses. For instance, Grant (as was known coming in) is a lousy rebounder and a so-so defender, but a very good scorer. But Hart being the NBA leader in rebounding for 6'5 and under makes up for Grant's lack of rebounding. And Hart is a good and versatile defender. Portland is not an elite rebounding team, but they are 11th on offensive rebounding & 15th in defensive rebounding....while also being a an undersized team. Hart is a big reason why

sorry...got going on this

anyway, as for Eubanks, to summarize, he's 1st in OffRating; 2nd in def rating; 5th in PER; 1st in TS%; 2nd in FTRate; 3rd in rebound rate; 1st in block rate; 2nd in winshares/48; 1st in DBPM; and 3rd in BPM. All that while essentially being on a minimum contract. That seems like a lot to just discard, especially for a rerun of an injury-prone big who has a salary 4 times higher

Why trade a guy who's productive, on a reasonable contract, and playing for his home team? For Nerlans? No thanks.

Incorrect. There are rumours that Orlando is about to have a fire sale and that Mo Bamba, Terrence Ross, and Gary Harris will be offered up in trades.
All three of those guys are intriguing depending on salary and trade value.

Doesn’t matter much to me if he’s playing 20 or 30 mins. At this point the sample size is big enough to see what you have offensively and defensively.
Those talking about getting rid of Eubanks are obviously missing the mark. He does things that don’t show up in those stats as well.

it's fine to want to upgrade a bench player

but Noel at 9.2M or Zach at 7.4M are not upgrades

patrick williams would be an interesting target also.
I’d love Patrick Williams, but not sure why the Bulls would get rid of him now. Still young, really athletic, and solid or good shooting splits as of right now.

Eubanks is the team's only Enforcer. Watching him play in person leaves me with the impression he dont take shit from any opponent. He swats HARD. Not a misprint; swats. when going for a block he goes for broke. I dont think he would hesitate ever to stand up for a fellow blazer. Zach does share some of those attributes too ImHo but too pricey and injury prone. I dont know how his shooting has been from 3 since being a spur.

Looking at where Watford is on those lists, kind of impressive for a undrafted 2nd year player.

If Eubanks is considered an enforcer, then I would think Nurk, Hart, and Winslow are as well.

the love for Eubanks is understandable, but he's no Przybilla. Still have a feeling he would get completely shut out in the playoffs leaving us with Winslow at C as our only backup option.

It is clear that Watford is a smart player. Like any newb you some times see that he gets lost, which is to be expected for young players. But experience will help with that, but experience does not make dumb players smart, so the team has done well to sign and groom him.

We definitely need more, nobody is arguing that.

I can understand this feeling. I can see the point.
My only response and granted it’s only eye test.
You simply cannot shut out energy and motor.
That dude brings a motor that doesn’t stop.
