Would Pop be up for all the young players when all he has to go with it is Aldridge who isn't a leader? I can see someone else getting involved in a 3-way so the Spurs get a more established player. If LA wasn't such a softy, young guys might energize him but I think Pop would want someone else to lean on.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Spurs traded Leonard to the Lakers and Pops retires.

It will be easier to do a CJ/Gordon trade now, that the salaries match (for those that wanted to go this route)
Except we can't really bring someone in via sign-and-trade unless Nurk signs the QO.

KCP and Lance are who you surround LeBron with? Way to go Tragic Johnson.

What’s pathetic is we are paying turner 75 mil for 4 years. The lance deal is like 4 million for a year. Compared their stats from last season and they are so similar. Makes me sick

If this is their team, I'm wondering how good they are... Probably not better than last years' Cavs team... Because KCP, Lance, and Lonzo are horrible fits next to him.

Hopefully LeBron starts to decline as well.

Because a star level player can completely alter a team, and the league has max contracts that make it so that 3 of them can team up even if they sign for the maximum contracts that are in place... The league doesn't promote parity. LeBron should be making 75% of the salary cap, if it was based off impact.

The league could take steps to making it more competitive with more parity, but they're lazy, and would rather just promote 3 teams and 5 players and not give a crap about any of its other members. It's stupid. Compare it to other leagues... It's horrible.

I don't see much parity in other professional sports either.
Real Madrid, Patriots, Red Sox.
NHL does well but....
I mean even Nascar doesn't have much parity.

Then you start to look at specific college programs across sports and generally see the same names near or at the top year after year. Sure generally a Cinderella appears but that still doesn't mean x college program isn't going to be there as well.

It's retarded. I might actually put together the time to form a protest for Neil Olshey.

Who can only compete in the East with a mediocre cast. In the West, the Lakers are an also-ran as composed.
I'm gonna disagree. Any team with LBJ on it is a contender. The Lakers will probably be better than Cleveland was I look for them to take the West. Golden State will compete but lose to the Lakers.

Just because there's dominant teams in other sports doesn't mean there's not parity. Look at the list of champions and runner-ups the past 15 years for the NBA and all other sports. It's ridiculous. It's a huge difference.

Nascar doesn't have parity? What? Martin Truex Jr. won the championship last year with a small-budget team. Since 2011, there's been 6 different champions in those 7 years. Jimmie Johnson isn't even in the top 10 in points right now and hasn't won a race in almost a year.

Without Kahwi? Good luck with that. Not sure they will make the WCF if they manage to avoid GSW in the 2nd round. Houston is no joke.

If they do get Kahwi... we can start talking.

Although I share your wish, I just don't think he's gonna decline in the next three or four years.

They don't get past the Rockets, let alone the Warriors. LeBron got pushed by the Pacers and Boston. He'll be a year older trying to check Durant.

You generally know what other teams are going to be in the playoffs and be contenders to start any season.
Just because they don't make it to the final game(s) doesn't mean there is parity.
Jimmy Johnson in 12 years won 7 titles. That's not parity.

To get Kawhi they would likely have to give up Ingram and kuzma. Lebron and Kawhi together sounds good on paper, but i don’t see how it’s enough to actually contend.

There wasn't parity before the past 7 years. Now there is. Do you understand parity? Lack of parity in the past doesn't mean a lack of parity in the present... You know what teams are going to be contenders but there's more of them, and any team has a chance. Did you think the Eagles would win the super bowl with a backup QB last season after losing an MVP candidate? That's like Portland winning the NBA Finals after losing Dame to injury.

Perhaps the greatest basketball player I've ever seen.
