Bring back T-Rex! Nolan Smith is the poor man's Bayless, who is the poor man's Rex Chapman, who is the poor man's Vinnie Johnson!

The Chairman of Cross-Racial Comparisons just called and wants this stricken....but well done! Going from Microwave to Chapman, back to creamy Bayless and then to Nolan (who counts under the little-known rule that everyone from Duke "plays white" anyway)...spectrum covered!

"Raps G Jerryd Bayless is now unrestricted free agent, agent Jeff Schwartz tells ESPN. Raps have pulled qualifying offer to make Bayless UFA"

@ESPNSteinLine

Can we bring him in to be the backup PG?

I'm joking and serious at the same time.

bayless played 31 games at 22 mpg, playing starter minutes in 7

must. have.

I see on realgm there is some vague note about Dirk having a meeting with management. The Mavs went from trying to lure DWill to losing all of their free agents. I wouldn't fault Dirk at all if he sought a trade. He won his ring for Dallas in the 2011 season and now there are VERY few players left from that team. Basically just Dirk, Beaubois, Haywood, and Dominique Jones.

He'll be cheap off the bench, can create his own shot, and actually tries. That's already an upgrade over Jamal Crawford, who quit on the year in terms of trying to win sometime in late January.

Ill say it again. With no hibbert, bayless would contend with being our second best player

that ship has sailed, they need to trade him. trying to figure out where he'd be best though.

Yeah, not a lot of teams scream out to me as being an attractive option, but that's probably what needs to happen for both sides.

Chicago for Boozer/picks?

Boozer/Dirk/3rd team involved?

I say Dirk would look pretty good in Golden State.....they have the assets and can provide some for a Dallas rebuild. Orlando for D12 maybe might be good (I think any trade will be a 3 way with Orlando anyway).

Golden State is terrible, though. Why would Nowitzki want to go there? He's starting the stage of his career where you move to a contender like a Chicago, help them for a few years on a bad contract in exchange for another bad contract (Boozer), and then assess where you're at after the current deal expires after the 2013-14 season.

Good international city to live in. New rich ownership group. Moving to SF in a few years. It would probably be a nice lifestyle for him.

Him and Steph Curry would be a nice little group to build with. Deal Harrison Barnes, Thompson and Lee to the Mavs.....

Steph Curry and Dirk is a 20-win team, but I do get your point about SF, and it is my favorite US city by far to visit.

I'm headed to my 3rd favorite next week for work. Heading to The Windy. Gonna get some good eats. Staying right by Grant Park at the Hyatt, next weekend is the Taste of Chicago in the park, and I'm staying through the weekend because my brother coincidentally is there for work as well.

Grant Park Friday, Wrigley Saturday afternoon, steaks for dinner, clubs that night, and an 8am flight back to PDX Sunday.

I'm with you. SF is my favorite city to visit (why I go 3 times/year). Chicago is another favorite. The Hyatt by Grant Park is a great place to stay. Always hit up Giordano's for good deep dish pizza, Gibson's for steak.

well, obviously its just the first step in several.

I almost did the Taste of chicago this year, let me know how it is....I've always wanted to hit that up. My aunt had a condo there in those high rises right by the little bean thing. Chicago and SF are awesome places.

To tie it back on-topic, I think Dirk would enjoy Chicago too, as I posted earlier. That's why I posted about Chicago next week, because it had already been brought up. I'll let you know about the Taste.

Carry on...

That's already on the agenda for Thursday night!

Is this only about where Dirk wants to play though? Boozer and a bunch of late 1sts is an awful return on Dirk.

As mentioned, GS could give Klay and Barnes plus some other lower level prospects and still have a Curry/Dirk/Bogut core. Denver has Lawson, McGee, Faried, Galinari, and Fournier to play with. Cleveland could make a package beginning with Tristan Thompson and keep Kyrie/Dirk and maybe even Waiters (could also throw Zeller in). Even Boston could probably field a more attractive offer than Chicago.

DEAR GOD NO TO BAYLESS!!!! We've been down this road before. Move on, nothing to see here.
