Free agent center Greg Stiemsma is signing a training camp deal with the Portland Trail Blazers

The way he moves and his body language reminds me of young Chris Kaman. One obvious difference is that as soon as he gets the ball, he passes it, LOL. Also doesn't have Chris' turnaround shot, but no reason why he couldn't learn it.

He looks like he's got skills although as HCP said, they can make Joel Pryzbilla look like Ray Allen in those highlight reels.

Isn't everyone technically on a training camp deal every year? what if someone is so bad.....
Guys with training camp deals have a shot at taking a spot but it's a very slim one and they only have a few weeks to do it. Training camp deals are only good for about a month

Dangit, I was trying to make a silly point. GRAH!

I wonder how glad he is never to have played for a Cleveland team.

The only thing I remember about him was his shot blocking. Another big body for practice I guess. Remember Myers isn't expected back till what, December?

We can't get Kelly Olynick, but Stiemsma must have learned a lot from playing with such a great player on the Celtics, so this is the next-best thing. Our coaches will be better at bringing out the Olynick in him.

That's your second spelling error. One more and you have to turn in your forum decoder ring.

Hey, a hyphen is optional in next-best.

Good rim proctor and decent about 16 ft out. Myers and Ezeli might not be ready beginning of the season. Might also good pickup for that 15 guy and be in trade by trade deadline.

That's my lucky number....birth year and predicted win total this season...I should go buy a lottery ticket

Seems like a low risk move by Olshey that could pay dividends if a trade opportunity comes along involving one or more of our big guys.

I think this is to shake up Vonleh and make him score over the guy in training camp
