Napier reminds me of Jerryd Bayless, but not with T-Rex arms or the jumping...
...or the piss poor me-first attitude!

I'll say one thing about Pat Connaughton....he's a good passer...he had 4 assists in about 4 minutes and setup Vonleh and Layman to score...he rebounded..just seems to force his jumper a bit. I like his energy on the court...hustle guy like Delladova on defense
He's still overthinking the game...Stotts obviously likes him because he's usually the first 3rd stringer off the bench. He has skills and is a hustle player..just hasn't found his range under pressure yetYour generous Riverman. I think he should be cut as well. But what do I know
Not surprising! Damn, that means we are keeping Patty C....oh well...welcome Grant Jarret to the Portland TrailBlazers

Stiemsma is 31...that's where I'd give Jerrett the edge..seems to me Olshey did mention he liked to keep a spot open if possible...that was back when he first came to PortlandQuarterman soon to follow. It's now between
1) Jerrett
2) Stiemsma
3) nobody (keep spot open)
for the last spot.
Sure hasn't played much if at all off the benchI bet Quarterman makes the cut.

Montero's goneI'm keeping Montero over Connaughton....Connaughton has a curve ball to fall back on
(see post #62 above)
Yes, if he is cut he would count because his contract is guaranteed.I have a question- If Pat were cut, or if he got sent to the D league (if that's even possible), would his contract still count against us towards the luxury tax?

It would be doing him a favor. He can go play baseball while he is still young and leave an NBA roster spot open for a guy with a real chance. Win win.Yup. But his salary is a drop in the bucket. Cut him Neil!
CUT HIM.
Not at all lately has he? I noticed Montero stopped playing completely a few games ago, so I don't expect Quarterman to be kept.Sure hasn't played much if at all off the bench
Honestly guys, Pat should probably stick with organized basketball. Making adjustments at A level baseball for college players is difficult enough. For someone who's 23 to go on to be anything more than a situational reliever.... it's almost impossible. If he was a position player it would be a different story. But you can't just take off time from the instructional process that can take up to 5 years or longer. If you don't believe me.... just follow Tim Tebow who's currently making a joke of the game in the Arizona Fall League. Pat has an athletic future it's just not in the NBA or MLB.
How does Pat compare to Crabbe after his 1st season?
