When Melo joins the team, should the Blazers insert him into the starting line-up?

What happened to hood tonight offensively? Felt like he really disappeared, especially after having 2 great games...what did he have like 5 points tonight?

Yes, he's not the most gifted offensive player I've seen. Why's that hard to fathom?
Harden is a pretty darn gifted player. Is he the best in the league? Probably not but he was pretty much unstoppable tonight. Love to have him playing for the Blazers.

On 8 shots... he gonna leave in free agency.

Dude, it's going to be wasted whatever we do - unless what we do is trade Dame to a team that is good.

If the choice is between wasting a season of Dame's prime being cannon fodder for the Clippers/Lakers (you know we're not getting any calls in that playoff series), being in the late Lottery, or having a decent chance of being in the Top-3, and a solid chance of getting an impact piece either from the player or from being used in a trade, that seems like a no-brainer.

I look at a team I don't think should be getting wasted like this. The talent disparity isn't big between these two teams.

That’s what I’m saying. I know we have injuries but they are not worth being 4,5 games under .500.. zach Collins is not that damn special

Hoods usage rate is absurdly low for his efficiency. It’s 14% which is the lowest of his career, but his TS is 66%, by far the highest of his career. He’s basically slotted into all the shots Harkless took last year as the outlet guy. That’s fine, but it seems like they don’t really run any plays for him, which they probably should consider doing even if it will hurt his efficiency. Help take some of the load off CJ and Dame.

Who am I kidding, they aren’t gonna run anything for him.

Oh we’ll get our lottery pick this year for sure. What I’m willing to do is try running it back one more time next year fully healthy and see what happens. If that doesn’t work dame will be 31 in 2021 I say trade him and Cj and build around Simons. Dame deserves a winning situation..

Thats what he’s known for all his career. He’s on and off like that. It’s his M.O. and why he’s been traded a few times. He’s a perfect 4th option tho and I think fully healthy he’s a good fit here

We got Stotts! Stotts! Stotts! Stotts! Stotts!

This team is going to go on a run. We'll make the playoffs and get to at least the 2nd round. At the end of the season, we'll look like a very different team (not personnel, but play).

You must be a fan

Unlikely. We won’t be healthy until March and by then it will be too late.

Stotts certainly has his share of blame for this and the roster construction has been inadequate to solve this issue

by the way, I want to apologize for my tone in the previous post...it was too harsh. I just got tired of people trashing Dame because he wasn't able to beat double-teams on his own
No big deal I think there a lot frustrated people in here how we been playing and there fault for everyone in the organization from management to players and I am big boy I can handle it and maybe I am little hard on point guard because there extension from coach.

There some positive notes we had 28 assist and 5 players over 10 shots and no one over 19. That show me distribute of the ball was balance and some might be them getting ball out Dame. But Dame had 11 assist. But this guy's need start making more though. Defensely there really know excuse being that bad.

Let's see what Terry decides to do. I just think he'll want to put Melo with Dame as much as possible. Our second unit isn't really stable enough, and he might just freelance out there (which is not what we want from Melo). What we want, and why I think we signed him, is to be a credible threat for Dame to not have to go 1 on 4.
I thought that's why we signed CJ McCollum, and Rodney Hood. Is CJ not a credible threat making $27 million to be a credible threat?

So this one of those times when you guys have to tell me...... did Russ have a good or bad game tonight? I always get confused. I mean, nobody on OUR roster got a triple-double, but I always remember in here that’s a BAD thing right? Please set me straight.

I know we got smacked tonight but on a bright note..... the first 3,000 fans in tonight got a Russ bobble head. Luckily THE HCP knows people. Don’t be jealous!

he had a decent game, and in his typical fashion, he was kind of a strutting asshole while doing it. Seems like the last time he faced the Blazers didn't teach him a thing

9-26, 10 assists to 5 turnovers. Meh. His crazy usage is what allows him to rack up big box score numbers but it's also what ultimately ends up holding his teams back. The guy is an incredible workhorse, which is a gift in and of itself, but he has no friggin self control and he clearly ain't changing his ways at this point.

All good points. So it was a BAD night from him?

Have you seen our December schedule?

So isn't Hood good enough or it's on Stotts? It looked like (on the begining of this season and in last playoffs) that if you give him the ball it's money. Now, instead of run more plays for him you bring Melo:) Bit of waste of Hod's shooting skills, but maybe I'm wrong.

And one more thing. Hood 2/8, Nassir 4/10. I love that Nassir went to S5, but this stuff doesn't look good. Proven shooter vs energy rookie. Do we even have any coach?

If I was the coach, I'd be eating with Rodney Hood in the post. He's barely utilized. It's criminal. That's the thing. We have players that are being underutilized under this coach.
