When factoring in both offense & defense, who is the most improved Blazer this year so far?

    54
  • Poll closed .
Let Vonleh defend him. And Vucevic is a crap defender, could be easy to Score for Nurkic

Yeah Stotts needs to figure out how to cover stretch 5's. Lopez, Cousins, etc.....continue to be wide open against us. Yet I don't want Nurk away from the basket.

To answer the poll, I’ll go with Lillard. He’s turned himself into a legitimate defender and it doesn’t look like a fluke.

Jury is still out on Connaughton. I think his minutes will shrink as Napier’s increases. Napier could be the answer to this question eventually.

I’m going to patiently wait for Wade Baldwin though. I believe in his talent.

I hope turner have a good game again, he's looking finally comfortable with his mid here. But he can't shots 3. Shabazz Will play with some hungry for sure, hope our bench can get going. And maybe some minutes for Collins please

Hoping Dame breaks out from his season shooting funk

30% shooting from 3 and shit even his FG percentage is at 40% right now

I’m hoping he has a big night. It just doesn’t make sense after 15 games his numbers are that bad
You have to remember, his aggression is leading to a career high in FTs for Dame and a bunch of open looks for his teammates. Shooting percentage isn't everything. Also, give the dude credit for his improved passing and defense.

Nurk is hanging out with his guy Hezonja at a coffee shop somewhere.

Neil...... do something! Bring Super Mario to Portland!

Bosnia&Herzegovina and Croatia are two borderline countries, both were part of former Yugoslavia

so theres always greetings between players from Ex-Yu, such as Nurkic, Jokic, Teletovic, Teodosic, Vucevic, Zubac, Bender, Bojan and Bogdan Bogdanovic, Marjanovic, Dragic, Hezonja, Saric, Zizic...

Hezonja will be UFA next summer if Im not mistaken

I’m given him mad credit on his defense. His passing has gotten better too but come on man he can’t be shooting like that out there. He’s our leader and franchise guy he has to be shooting way better than that.

Tough poll question but I have to give the nod to Meyers. Not sure why, but these last eleven games he's never looked better. He just needs to keep doing what he's doing.

Blazers vs Magic

Blazers come up after a pretty nice win Monday against another team that has a decent center and a couple guys that can Make things happen on the court from the forward positions. Vucevic while not a dominant center can score averaging about 18 a game and bringing in about 7 rebs. They recently played Denver and Jokic was a problem for him so i think the Blazers can have an advantage if Nurkic is playing well.

Forwards for the Magic are Evan Fournier and Arron Gordon. These guys are also averaging 19 and 18 a game respectively and this is where they have been winning games. They can shoot the ball well. They score around the hoop and from deep. Orlando is shooting 3's and making them. Almost 30 a game hitting 40%.

Portland's own Terrence Ross also has been having an impact. He has had a few double digit games and seems to be holding his own as he is a big guard. Listed at 6-7 he is going to be able to get shots against CJ. So i expect Stotts to switch a bit. Look for what coaches do in this matchup? This is exactly where you see 6-5 Pat C come in at times. The flip side is Ross is not going to guard CJ or Dame/Napier for that matter. It works both ways. Adjustments could be crucial in this game.

Giving Swanigan a start is a great idea IMO. But i see this as a natural progression type thing. We watched it last year with Vonleh. Noah consistently got starts but in crunch time we watched veterans take the court. Vonleh is now really looking like those 8-10 mins a game last year are paying off. The same thing goes for Pat. There seems to be only so many minutes and development will go a long way. Watching Swanigan foul out in 20 mins was painful to say the least but he will learn. This is how it happens.

This is a 4 game road trip for Orlando and their last game before heading home. They just lost to Denver and GS. Something tells me they will be gunning to get a win. Portland better not fall asleep on these guys because the Blazers have looked beatable for most of this season so far. Teams do not fear coming into the Rose Garden this year. Sad really.

The good news is that the Blazers continue to be one of the best defensive teams in the league. They also are without a doubt killing it on the boards. Ratings defensively are top 10 across the board. This is no doubt in my mind why the offense has suffered. Dame is busting and fighting through screens all game long. It is effecting his shot. Some like it but i start to think this game is about scoring more than your opponent. They need 30+ every now and again from Dame. I'm watching close to see how it all pans out?

Pick tonight is the three headed monster.... Turner/Pat/Napier. If this trend continues to impress the Blazers are very tough to beat. Sit Dame and CJ so they are not gassed from playing defense and stay in the game. We have not seen that before last game. Have to credit Davis a bit also. He does so much of the dirty work.

Go Blazers! Get this one!

@SlyPokerDog Aint runnin nothin but his mouth!!

I've seen no improvement to last year.
My thought too. There isn't a player on the team that I would say has improved to a degree where they could be considered the "most" improved. Everyone has pretty much flat-lined, or any minor improvement has been equaled by minor improvement from other players. Certainly nobody has taken their game to a new level.

Memphis are losing for the pacers at home, Pelicans is losing to, we need to win tonight!

Caleb is the new Meyers, in terms of pump fakes.

can somebody tell me what the fuck elfrid paytons hair even is? I have never seen such a thing in my life

Big difference, Caleb is pumping near the basket while Meyers does it at half court.

And Caleb has to fake. If he doesn't he isn't big or athletic enough to get his shot up without it getting swatted into the stands.

And here we are looking like shit again. Call a fucking timeout, Stotts.
