This game was over as soon as Harrell knocked Anthony on his ass and not one Blazer got in his face. From that point on the entire Blazer team played scared like a bunch of little boys looking for anyway to score that they didn’t have to go head to head with anyone in the paint.
It’s happened about 3 or 4 times this year. The Blazers have no enforcer. Somebody better step up and start being tough or this is gonna be a pattern.

Didn't see it, but it's kinda sad. No matter how people like od dislike JailBlazers era, bullying other team gives you advantage. Being nice does not do you any good im the game. I understand that Blazers got great chemistry im the locker room, but you can be really nice guy normalny and be animal on the court. Why they not. Od it Stotts?

That play actually looked clean. Shoulda been a jump ball.

Trail Blazers "KIA" keys to the game:

-Allow as many open threes as possible, preferably from the corner.
-Allow Harell to do whatever he wants. DO NOT BOX HIM OUT.
-Take as many contested shots as possible.
-If all goes according to plan, then it's time to insert Anthony Tolliver
.

Who took a picture of Stotts' coaching white board?

Are you one of my players or assistants? Dale, is this you??? I'm very upset by this. You do not leak my white board material on a public BBS! I will get to the bottom of this, and you will be sorry mister!

That is not even close to a strong correlation based off of r-value, not close at all. Our eyes can see whatever we want, but the r-value won't lie.
Well were 1 of 30 teams. I bet you could find a correlation with OUR team.

Ah, typical misguided pessimism. Their schedule in February isnt difficult.

connect the dots

Portland has a 1-8 record against teams with winning records, and 6 of their 12 game in Feb are against teams with winning records. Portland has a 5-9 road record and 3 of those wins came in the first week of the season; since then they are 2-8 on the road and there are 6 road games in Feb. That's a difficult schedule considering how they have performed so far. I mean, they just won 3 in a row against bad teams, had 3 days of rest, then got curb-stomped by a good team

they have 5 chances left in December to show their stuff against good teams:

Fri, Dec 6, 2019 Los Angeles Lakers
Thu, Dec 12, 2019 @ Denver Nuggets
Sat, Dec 21, 2019 Minnesota Timberwolves
Thu, Dec 26, 2019 @ Utah Jazz
Sat, Dec 28, 2019 Los Angeles Lakers

I'm guessing they will be favored in only one of those games. I'd like to think they can win one of the Laker games. If they don't, going 2-12 for the year against winning teams is an emergency considering that 29 of their last 48 games are against winning teams

We are really missing Kanter. The blazers fucked up by not securing him in the offseason.

he was so solid at getting easy shots on his own from a post up. We have nobody that can do that anymore. When we play a team that defends like the clippers we take bad shots bc we have no post up game to balance our offense so they just overplay our guards.

So their schedule is average, not difficult? Even split between winning and losing teams, even split between road and home... you literally proved my point.

Yup. Thats the only answer verse good defense is posting up. Only answer. I mean, just look at the Warriors the past few years. They didnt have a low-post presence.... oh.... wait...

That’s not what I said but enjoy getting mad over nothing

also funny how you picked like the one team in NBA history without a solid post up game to make your point (even though Durant could post up so this isn’t even accurate). You literally just try to start pointless arguments.

Having to watch Stotts fucking disgusting iso offense is starting to make me physically ill
So glad to hear Webber being honest and basically calling out Stotts ISO ball offense, its horrible to watch and will never win us anything big

You think I'm mad?

Funny.

That game last night was disgusting. I can't get the bad taste out of my eyes. Melo and CJ starting taking bad contested shots early in the clock with no teammate within 20 feet of the basket, and it went downhill from there. Melo's worst game since his first game. The number of CONTESTED shots the Blazers took without a single teammate inside of the three point circle has got to be some kind of record. I've never seen anything like it in basketball, at any level. Horrible, horrible game. Just disgusting basketball.

I have to agree. I mean, it did start out ok (and the score actually showed that). Then it just went to shit. Me, Me, Me...... Rarely do I get into the dynamics of the plays, coaching, and such. That ISO crap has to go though. Period.

I have been elated to see good ball movement replace the weave and one-on-three basketball. Does every action have an opposite reaction? In this case, it's like five games worth of positive action was followed by five games worth of negative reaction, all in one game. Did they learn anything from it? Did Stotts? We'll see. I'm not placing any bets on it.

Can we just watch the tape on the 1st quarter of the OKC game? And they intel seemed to be able to do it for one quarter even in the same game.

You see this is the kind of thing i'm talking about. And this is nothing. Griffin simply pushes a little and steps over him. next thing you know Khris Middleton and Wesl Mathews are in his face! The Blazers don't have any fire when they get Punked!

That's not getting punked. Middleton looks like a fool for his overreaction.

Totally disagree. That was the 2nd time in the game that Griffin pushed/shoved/nudged the league MVP when the ball was dead. He didn't do much here on this play, but him stepping over him isn't cool. Some might think much of it, but you step over somebody like that (Iverson style) in the parks, guys will throw down. Blake knew what he was doing. Not a big deal though......and I think Middleton did exactly what I would want him to do if I was their coach. Pat Beverly does that to Dame, you damn sure know Whiteside and Melo would have stepped up. There's a code out there.

I don't think what Griffin did is that bad...but he knew what he was doing for sure, just like CJ knew what he was doing with his elbow against Ariza last night. Just examples of the nudge-bump versions of trash-talk. Not so subtle mini-aggressions. I remember my playing days and that my elbows, hips, and knees sometimes found their ways into the guys I was guarding or who were guarding me; accidental of course...(I'm winking now)

No he doesn’t. He stood for his teammate. Blazers need more of this. Seriously I just can’t figure how someone didn’t get a little testy after Harrell took Melo down like that. Big or little doesn’t matter. Be the guy that pushes back. You could see Wes was in there too. If he was on the court for the blazers right then Harrell would have heard about it.

Well I would hope so. I’m waiting to see it at some point. Blazers seem way too timid.

That was “barely” a step over. No people in the parks are throwing down over that. Thats so mild for “in the parks” type stuff. Seriously it was a total over reaction, and guess what they arent in the parks. What Mario did to Giannis was a step over, what Blake did wasnt unless you’re really, really looking to start something.
