I'm still a NO for a Max on Nurkic.
Just don't see it yet.

Of course you try to get him cheaper than MAX but you know if we don't match then we still don't have cap space to replace him right? So it is Nurk as our 3rd in the big 3 or no one. I will take Nurk.

If Nurk averages, say, 18 a game this year, I can see us paying him very well. That might be a bit optimistic though....perhaps he'll average 15 or 16 PPG.

Still.....we could do FAR worse than him. And he's already had many games this year where he's scored over 20.

Is he worth the "max"? Eh....that remains to be seen. But unless Butters becomes Dwight Howard II....which he won't......then I don't think we have much of a choice. Lock him up and keep him here. His defense alone helps us tremendously.

Absolutely! Many fans forget that defense is the other side of a player's skill set.

Yeah that's also my take. If nobody offers him a max (and I don't think anybody will), we should not offer him max either. If he gets a max offer, we need to match it because in our current position we cannot go for any other center that could possibly replace him.

23 year old Centers with his skillset don't come along very often.
Nurk has the potential to turn into Marc Gasol. That's something you don't pass on.

Bruh, we've said this over and over again.....he's NOT READY. The guy is built like a twig, and he's awkward in the paint.

He'll get there....but he seriously needs to bulk up and work on his pace first. Putting him out there right now in anything but garbage time is ridiculous.

My feeling is let the season play out and make a decision on this when it's time to make it.
