If Nurkic receives a max contract this summer, would you match it?

Turner is awfull. He's trash, i think he's the biggest mistake from Neil.

Great poll question @Darkwebs . I voted yes, since it's not my money.

To put it into perspective what a 'max' offer to Nurk would do to the payroll-
- Next year's tax line is expected to be at $121.5M
- A max offer for a 0-6 yr vet is about $23.6M (Nurk)
- Blazers current guaranteed contracts (8) in 2018/19, $110.5M.
-- Assuming the Blazers cut (non-guaranteed): Davis, Vonleh, Napier, Connaughton, and Layman -
-- Filling out the 12 man roster with 3 min rookie salaries -
---- The Blazers minimum payroll would then be $136.7M
---- That's $15.2M over the tax line, resulting in a tax bill of close to $29.2M

Not only is that a lot of money to pay, it also guts our bench to keep it that 'low'. If we let Davis walk, cut Napier, cut Layman, sign Vonleh and Pat to the QOs, then sign a min rook salary (to make it to the minimum 12 man roster), we're looking at a tax bill of $45.2M. Ouch!

This will be a tough decision for Blazer management. But hey, it's not my money......

Hell no. What does getting rid of ETs contract do for us? We arent gonna sign anybody with those savings. Layman gets ETs minutes and we're worse. 32yo Gasol isn't much of an upgrade over 23yo Nurk either. So we get worse now & in the future in order to save PA money? Cmon man.

Yes, we BADLY need to trade Turner. But attaching Nurk, Dame, or CJ to Turner is a never going to happen.

I really want CLE to make a panic move for another "ball handler" and trade for Turner... Any set-backs with Thomas?

Would you trade Turner and a future 1st for Crowder and Frye? Would they?
 
If there was ever a game where Collins would be useful, it'd be this one. He'd be the perfect guy to put on Porzingas IMO.

A protected first, probably. They might since they need ball handling and defense...but they could probably get a better/cheaper deal from someone else. Which is why I'd look to do something like this:

We trade shitty players in Turner/Smith, in order to get Crowder. I think Turner fits CLE better, and Smith fits POR better...but basically we're taking a bad contract in order to get rid of an even worse contract. Aminu is the grease that gets them to pull the trigger...hype up his current defensive metrics and hope they don't look at his career metrics! LOL!
 
I think will have to put a 1st round pick to get away from turner.
 
Turner is awful. Serious we need him out. He just doesn't fit! We win our close games just because he wasn't on the court. He is trash, can't shoot, he think he's to good. Put a 1st round and let this guy walk by anything we can get in offer.

He's actually helped us win a couple games this year.
 
Time to get some grub and settle in with the Knicks broadcast.
