I said guard point guard due to ET plays point on offense.Trent is Stauskas 2.0 right now, and no, he cant play PG.
Are there worse fans in the league than Spurs fans? They lose a couple of games, and the place is empty. They just sit there, entitled, casually watching, sort of. It's so quiet in the arena, the jackass sound crew plays random super obnoxious noise nonstop the entire fucking game. God I hate that. I would absolutely hate to watch a game in San Antonio. I'd love it if they'd have a 20 game losing streak.
BooooSadly, the last game in Portland, 1/2 the lower bowl was empty. Some seats filled in as the game went along but it was quite empty and very quiet for a Portland crowd.
SA's got a recent championship and a legendary coach though... Blazers got a Great player and a lot of getting rocked in the playoffs...Sadly, the last game in Portland, 1/2 the lower bowl was empty. Look you can call it wrong all you want. I don't really care. What i do know is that Derozan scored 36 got 8 rebounds with 6 assists. He essentially matched what Dame put out tonight. The Blazers had absolutely no response for that 6'-11" dude that shot 11-15 and 7-8 from the line who scored 29 points. Whenever the Blazers started to make any kind of run the Spurs went to Aldridge to shut them down and make a shot. This is what he used to do for the Blazers as well. Now if you want to get all lines X's and O's and talk about Perimeter influx and Pick n Roll response and transitional defenses with rotations then fine. But the fact remains the Blazers had two 5 minute stretches in the game when they could not score. Once in the 2nd quarter and again in the 4th. These were at crucial times when they were making a run. The Spurs pulled out the most dominant player on the court and stepped up. Sure Dame and Derozan scored more points but Aldridge shut the Blazers down and scored when they needed him to. The result was a win for the Spurs. Game over. The Blazers could have used a player like that tonight.
Just curious, do number of attempts matter or do the results play any part of it?Dame and CJ took 50 of our 86 fg attempts tonight... that’s 60%... how can any team expect to win that way
Obviously scoring wasnt and hasnt been a problem, but because they shoot a lot of 3’s there are a lot of long rebounds that lead to transition baskets. Also tonight they had 17 turn overs, which usually means the offense gets to to play against a defense that isnt set.Just curious, do number of attempts matter or do the results play any part of it?
Combined they shot 23/50 which is 46% and had 61 points which is good for 1.22 points per shot. Those numbers, while not really good or anything, are still decent. Dame also had 10 assists with only 1 turnover which is phenomenal.
I guess I just don't understand on a night where the defense was the entire reason for losing (I'm sorry you're just wrong if you think otherwise), that a stat like how many FG's our two guards took has any relevancy.
By the way, you are doing that crap again where you round up to make your point look better. 50/86 is 58.1%.
Question for those that think Dame is going to want out: Do you want him to leave?Things change
Dame and CJ combined for 5 turnovers (CJ had 4). I'd take 5 turnovers from those two with how much they handled the ball every game. I was specifically talking about those two being "ball hogs" not the offense in general.Obviously scoring wasnt and hasnt been a problem, but because they shoot a lot of 3’s there are a lot of long rebounds that lead to transition baskets. Also tonight they had 17 turn overs, which usually means the offense gets to to play against a defense that isnt set.
CJ and Dame did their part scoring though and the fact is its their defense that was just sad tonight...
Curious who you'd rather have shoot?Dame and CJ took 50 of our 86 fg attempts tonight... that’s 60%... how can any team expect to win that way

This, I agree with. Our crowd isn’t the same anymore I feel like.
It’s not as loud and intimidating. Add the home court advantage we couldn’t even utilize, it feels like we lose more often at home the last couple years than years past
But i also watched that dude shut down the Blazers pick n roll time and time again. So you admit, you know offense was not the problem. Thanks you know.
You know good talk.
You know btw that 6'11 dude only took 5 shots in the paint tonight. You know rest were outside the restricted area.
You know Perimeter defense.
Nope. They had 17 turnovers yes but 6 or 7 of those were ball handling and a whistle from the ref for palming and travel. Defense gets set for that.Obviously scoring wasnt and hasnt been a problem, but because they shoot a lot of 3’s there are a lot of long rebounds that lead to transition baskets. Clyde got traded to the defending NBA champs.
Thats why the word usually was in that sentence...Nope. They had 17 turnovers yes but 6 or 7 of those were ball handling and a whistle from the ref for palming and travel. Defense gets set for that.
Well i'm with you on the long rebound part for sure. The Blazers went long runs missing shots and scrambling to get back on defense. I also agree turnovers make for tough situations to guard.Thats why the word usually was in that sentence...
Just a frustrating few weeks of Blazer basketball. Thats probably the best way to say it.Well i'm with you on the long rebound part for sure. The Blazers went long runs missing shots and scrambling to get back on defense. I also agree turnovers make for tough situations to guard.
Absofuckinglutely!Just a frustrating few weeks of Blazer basketball. Thats probably the best way to say it.
I also want to know what is going on with CJ and palming the ball? I just don't remember those calls last year?Just a frustrating few weeks of Blazer basketball. Thats probably the best way to say it.
In my opinion they could call palming a lot more than they do, and for whatever reason CJ's just been the victim of a lot of calls going against him. It doesn't really bother me as he does it quite a bit and old habits are hard to break. I just wish it was consistent. What's a foul is always a foul for both teams all game long, palming, traveling, whatever if the calls in the NBA were consistent it would be a lot less frustrating at least for me.I also want to know what is going on with CJ and palming the ball? I've seen it this year but i just don't remember this many palming calls? He has always got a few travel calls. He does that bump step and slide drag of his foot. Maybe i just missed them?In my opinion they could call palming a lot more than they do, and for whatever reason CJ's just been the victim of a lot of calls going against him.
