Isn't the goal to have Dame and CJ fresh at the end of the year? instead of burned out like the last few years? Getting fewer minutes each game would help them as the season progresses.

The goal should be to have Dame and the player we got back in a trade for CJ rested and fresh at the end of the year.

If Dame is out for a long while lets say 2 months at least and we are basically out of the playoff picture I'd say just have him take the rest of the year off and make as sure as possible that injury has healed

no, siakam was always considered the ceiling. I also made a similar comparison because their second years were nearly identical.

statistically similar?...ok. I like stats but comparisons don't end at stats all the time. In this case they were so obviously different as players it was an awkward comparison. Zach was/is a little different anyway; it's hard to think of good comps for him. AD is too elite; Jaren Jackson is younger; Porzingas? too unicorn? Keith Van Horn was a lot more fluid on offense. Larry Nance was way more athletic. Myles Turner might be a closer comp, but again, that might have been Zach's ceiling

So far this season Portland is 15th in the league in assists. Last year they were dead last. You move the ball, you significantly improve your odds of winning. Same with rebounding and defending. I don’t believe a team can be a contender without doing at least two of those three well. We’re 19th in rebounding and bottom third in defensive rating.

The holes are very clear. We need more size and we need to trade our most ISO heavy player (CJ). Also, Nance needs to start over Roco but that’s a different discussion

If olshey can’t accept that reality (or won’t because of his ego) he needs to go ASAP.

Dunno what this has to do with today’s game but I didn’t feel like starting another thread.

I think both DSJ and Mac should get more minutes when appropriate. More rest for Dame, fewer shots for CJ is a good thing
If you want fewer shots for CJ, WHO do you want shooting more? Please do not say DSJ and Mac….. PLEASE don’t do it.

In a normal situation, I would always agree. This team MIGHT not even make the playoffs bro as is, let alone if you rest our backcourt.

nurk got this

i want to see nurk take 14 or 15 shots tonight or even more if he gets it going, big guy gotta be aggressive

without Dame and Nas, I don't have much interest in this game tonight...and the Spurs sure aren't must see TV. snorefest

I thought you guys couldn’t see the games anyway?!? #WinWin

Excellent 3pt defense as usual.

Defense not good giving up 50 percent from the field and from the 3 point line. Offense is just as bad.

This one's almost in the books.

This is the worst lineup since Flynn and Thabeet were on the squad.

Chauncey’s rotations are truly awful. How is this lineup actually in the game? One of CJ/Ant/Norm should be on the floor at all times yet he’s still playing a 10 man rotation when two players are out.

Two of Zeller/RoCo/snell need to just lose their rotation spot.

McBuckets always loves seeing Blazers defenses.

Getting out score 20-6 in the paint we have know paint present in the paint.

Almost bed time. This team is garbage. Poeltl >>> Nurk
