The basketball Gods might have shown pity on us though. They fucked us with Roy, oden, bowie etc. Might have been time to bless us
 
I think we're on the right path..the cream of this roster is rising to the top..we're not that far away from being really good. As young as this roster is, I expect to win more games in the second half of the season than the first half.
 
I don't watch college basketball and I've only seen one video of Ben Simmons. Is he really a "sure thing"? Like, is he fully expected to be the next LeBron or something? I don't get why everyone seems so ridiculously high on him when top prospects end up being busts all the time.
 
I'd bet serious money we could tank like crazy and the Lakers would still get Simmons after the Kobe retirement circus...

Neither do I. And I can guarantee he's not LeBron. LeBron was an ESPN marquee advertisement as a high school player when then aired the McDonalds All American game. I remember rushing home after work to see him play for the first time. Comparing the two is incorrect

Not to say Simmons isn't good. He's just not LeBron. Come on...
 
Only problem Simmons has right now he is not a very good shooter from 15ft and more but the rest of his game is there and yes he is the number 1 pick.

Of course in the present NBA, being able to shoot the deep ball is THE most important ability it would seem.
 
And you didn't hear it from me, but I wouldn't be surprised if we went 1-6 in our next 7 games. Not an easy run coming up.

You mean the 7 game stretch which includes the pels twice, and the new york knicks? I dunno.. 3-4 I can understand... but 1-6?

My bad. Not thinking clearly after this long road trip. Looked at my phone and saw
Knicks
Nola
OKC
Orlando
Miami
Atlanta
Nola
Cabs
Knicks sat in Portland last night and rested. We are about and hour from landing. That first game back from the road is always tough though, no matter who the opponent is. Looking at this I say we go 2-6.

I say we take one of the two in florida. We are playing teams tough... I say 3-4 and think of that as okay.

Sure thing? Absolutely. Just like Wiggins.
 
Brandon Knight shot 0-12 tonight, which happens about once per season. Ray Allen once shot 0-13 in the Finals. Since 1985, a Blazer has done it twice.

Eh, that's not really fair. Lebron came along right as the Internet age was taking off. I think he got famous off a video of him breaking a backboard or something like that. If Lebron came along right now, he wouldn't have been nearly the same phenomenon. He would be highly touted, yes, but he wouldn't get the ESPN hype.

I'm not hearing LeBron as a comparison with Simmons, I'm hearing Lamar Odom more. Same build, same passing skills, same good-but-not-amazing athleticism. I think that's fair: Odom was always an amazing talent, just held back by ditziness.

Even if that were the case (which I doubt), we have a stretch of games starting in January in which we play 17 of 22 games at home. We will make some hay during that stretch.
