I can't figure out why the fuck Chauncey thinks that when Simons is on the floor, he should be the one bringing the ball down and initiating the offense. It is purely stupid. I usually don't think +/- for a game means much of anything but the -29 Simons had in this game actually seems a good gauge of the terrible defense he played and the way he ran the offense. It was terrible on both ends of the floor

by the way, one of the two firsts Olshey paid for RoCo was the 16th pick in the 2020 draft:

16 Isaiah Stewart
19 Saddiq Bey
21 Tyrese Maxey
25 Immanuel Quickley
30 Desmond Bane
Bane was given away in the Kanter deal.

Blow. It. Up.

Trading for Ben Simmons isn’t going to be enough to make this team competitive. Just get a massive haul for Dame and start the rebuilding process now. He has given his heart and soul to this franchise. Let him get a legitimate chance to win a title elsewhere.

if Portland puts Dame on the market they are NOT going to get a "massive haul". Won't even be close

It might be really hard to get another win in 2021 unless some dramatic change in play materializes.

I wouldn’t be shocked to see them lose 10 straight more. Maybe Orlando on jan17 is a win?

They said we found out at the start of the game Smith JR wasn't playing Why? What about Snell?

Yikes... shooting 16 of 44 inside the arc is really bad. 36.3% on two point shots! They were disruptive but we missed a lot of shots that we just have to hit. Obviously Dame blew two reverses he usually makes but it was way more than that. When Dame and Norm were sitting the team let didn't put up effort on either end.

Trade Ant and play DSJ as backup PG because people see value in Ant's potential. Trade RoCo and Nurk, every analyst out there says they have value because throughout their careers they've shown they can play and are on expiring contracts. Obviously trade CJ... some GM in the NBA has to value him. Just turn those guys into two players that can make an impact on both ends. Start Dame, Norm, Nas, Larry and whoever the best 5 you can get is supposedly Sabonis or Turner are available and get a sixth man to go with them.

If Simmons/Thybulle/Maxey for Dame is on the table do you think our rebuilding franchise shouldn’t take it?

As I said before: Clyde deserves a ring and now Dame deserves a ring as well. Go trade him to a great team so he can get that ring.

So Simons shoots the ball well, can't play defense and is allergic to passing--time to sign him to the Crabbe extension.

I say give Cronin a chance and a clean slate. Fire sale! We could get a lot of young pieces for our aging backcourt and expirings. A bunch of young studs, salary cap, and first rounders sounds pretty good right about now.

Cronin has about a month and a half to fix this roster or Chauncey is going to be on a real hot seat

This isn’t really a coaching thing. Our team when Lillard is playing awful just isn’t good. We got by in the past with hero ball. Well the hero is broken and Robin has got a bad lung.

Too bad Olshey hamstrung the franchise by not trading CJ years ago when it was obvious to everyone that the small back court would never work. Instead he doubled down on it by trading and resigning a 6’3 SG to play starting SF.

Olshey was trash. Good thing we never ended up signing Chandler Parsons or Roy Hibbert both of whom he badly wanted to sign that ended up fizzling out of the league shortly after.

This game was lost with whatever unit that was to start the 4th. Kinda tough in a back to back off OT no less, and no CJ, but it was clear we were struggling to create any good shots. This team has very few playmakers and are undersized. Not a good combo. I’m so fucking sick of these three guard lineups as well, even without CJ they’re doing it. And none of em can pass except Dame. Getting teabagged around every night. Give me length. Give me size. Give me some heart. Give me some IQ. Give me any of it, ASAP.
I thought you guys said it was Stotts.

Anybody else miss winning close to or above 50 wins a season, making the playoffs and getting bumped out in the first round? I know I do. I REALLY liked our last 9 seasons ALOT more than this one so far.

Nope. Does losing suck? Yes. But getting bounced in the 1st round every year and being stuck in mediocrity is worse. Would much rather rebuild and suffer through growing pains with the goal of a championship than settling for 1st round exit purgatory.

We've gone from some people saying they wanted change so we could finally get over the top, to now wanting to be so bad that we get a good lottery pick. That's a big about face after 29 games.

Well homie sit back and enjoy this shit. You got what you asked for!

How is this even possible?
