Years down the line, when it's all said and done, should the Blazers retire Aldridge's jersey?

It's all about the way LA left. If he had have said "We've both tried our best, it isn't working. It's time to go our separate ways. I'll always love you, we've just grown apart. It's not you it's me." I don't think most people would have a problem retiring his jersey.

But to say: and then leave. No way.

I think it's the blatant dishonesty that most Trail Blazer fans can't stomach.
Still wouldn't deserve to have his Jersey retired.

Exactly, dude made it out of the first round once. And when he finally did, he got pissed because it was someone else who led us there (at least at the end of the series, to be fair he was magnificent in games 1 and 2).

Which playoff caliber squad did Aldridge hold back? Fans treating this sport like tennis will always confuse me. It doesn’t depend on one guy. And I don’t even like Aldridge, but come on.

Well I would argue the way he quit against Memphis would be reason enough to disqualify him. But on principle, if you can't lead a team to postseason success, you're not worthy of having your jersey retired. By the same token, Roy shouldn't have his retired either.

Oh I agree that he shouldn’t have his number retired but let’s not pretend like he was the reason we never advanced. Yeah he quit in the Memphis series, and that’s unforgivable, but we were already a broken team.

Collins should start tonight. But he won’t.

You did see the first matchup of the season against this team right?
Collins got in and got pooped on by Gasol & Aldridge.
In the second half Aminu shut Aldridge down. It was quite fun to watch Aminu out physical Aldridge.

So they have LaMarsha, a 37 and 40-Year Old, a kid from Rainier Beach HS, and the SLOWEST SF of all time.

Yet, watch Grandpop still coach them to a win.
Aldridge and Gasol are good. Spurs won by 39 in Houston without Kawhi or Parker.

Aldridge is a good player. But he wasn't good enough to lead us to much playoff success. Great players get it done. Players like LeBron and Duncan and Magic and Shaq. You don't retire LaMarcus Aldridge's jersey. Jesus Christ.

Yeah, they're good because of Pop, which is why this ragtag group could still win.

29 no votes on the poll no yes votes...I think it's official

Got excited about our chances, now back to status quo.

Thank GOD I work during the 2nd half of this game...

if we play like against CLE & ATL, with ball and player movement, we might steal this one without Dame
