Our bench had 49 tonight and 3 players double figures. We had 25 assist tonight. Nurk in 19 minutes put up 20/8. I thought our first united kind went through motion especially the 1st half. 2nd half we step up the defense.

When Layman gets minutes, he produces. Can't figure out why Stotts keeps jerking him around.
I think it was because our D was so good with Mo last year (13 game win streak) and Stotts can only play so many people BUT now that Stauskas is out of the rotation, I think Layman will have regular minutes off the bench.

Have any of you seen the Game Stats that Comcast provides on their Interactive Scoreboard? Wow!

I just don't get all the Jake love. Yes he has good games occasionally, .but if you look at the season, he has only 5 games where he has scored more then 10 points. He has 17 games where he has played more then 10 minutes and scores less then 10 points. It is not like he plays like this all the time

Does anyone in the NBA average 10 ppg in 10mpg?

No but he averages 14 minutes and 5 points a game. So there are a lot of 0 and 2 point games in there also. If you actually look at stats he averages more minutes, but fewer points, rebounds, assists a game then Meyers, and a majority hate Meyers for not producing, but he outproduces Jake.

I watched Jake's rookie season G League games with the Idaho Stampede and every game the announcers kept saying.."He looks like the only NBA player on the court" He's going to be a solid two way player.

He was scoring the ball well. He's a rookie. They should be trying to develop his defense and decision making, to supplement his scoring.
They have plenty of other young players that have either a higher upside or that they are more invested in.

If he plays better he'll get another opportunity, but he's been awful for almost a month now.

So scoring is all that matters? And what a botched way to look at scoring rate.

Hes getting more than 13ppg per 36. That's not bad for someone who doesnt get many plays ran for him and has never been in a consistent role.

When Jake plays 12+ minutes, he is shooting .545 from the field. Take out his one outlier brick-fest on Dec 8 and that goes up to .582 from the field. In the same minutes, he is shooting .375 from 3-pt range and again, remove the outlier game and that jumps to .423 from '3'. (That went up after the Knicks game)

Kind of reminds me of what Luke Jackson would have been. Tall gangly guy with good off the ball movement and a good outside shot. Jackson had a much higher ceiling though. Shame his back gave out like that.

Preach!

I think it is. People like to say we haven’t improved last couple years but we have!
Based off what? Weve been a good regular season team, bad playoff team. How does being 24-17 prove anything different...?

That still bums me out. He was a great player. Could have flourished playing with LeBron (Cleveland drafted him).

Yet on the season, he still averages fewer points, rebounds and assists then Meyers with the same average minutes per game played.

He had a great life though playing all over the NBA...G league..Italy...Israel...I think he scored over 30 pts for the Miami Heat once...now he coaches NW Christian College hoops in Eugene and still lives in Creswell where he grew up. My son golfs with his brother...their wives are friends.
