My response actually even read "I understand why..."
Also-
Did you actually read somewhere that Seth was unhappy here? I mean that has him quoting that? Not talking about the multitude of draft and trade threads that seem to go on for endless discussions about what a player/coach/GM/owner thinks.
I heard Casey and Joe Freeman talk about it on their podcast

Id rather play an unknown than someone who is known to suck.

I think you nailed it: These guys abilities are unknown to most on here, but are known to the franchise because they see them every day in practice.

What i have heard and always thought was Seth wanted a starting role. Now in Dallas he is not going to take Luka's spot. Hardaway seems to be pretty set also. Seth has been primarily the first off the bench. Unless Carlisle goes small with three guards like he did this last game against the Blazers.
Pretty sure that would be his role here as well. Seems to me he is pretty happy where he is at this point. More money and a team that is growing. But i doubt he will get that elusive starting role there either.

He’s probably happier because he is on a team that shares the ball compared to the ISO ball the Blazers play.

Well I'llll Beee. What do you know? You mean the coach might actually know more than the posters on S2? Take it a step further? You mean to tell me posters on S2 might just want something different?

Luka does seem to pass well. And i would agree he is getting two more shots a game this year over last.
Something tells me though that he would have got those attempts this year here also. Just because of the lack of any other player that can make a shot it seems?
Here though is the biggest thing. If Seth stayed here 1M would not get the minutes. 1M is getting more attempts than Curry is this year in Dallas. So what is it? Is it Dallas shares the ball more? Or is it that Portland decided to try to develop a young player?

Ha, you act like facts matter in this whole story.

Yeah. I do have that tendency. Sorry. I'll try harder next time.

Here's my suggestion. Make up a screen name that a parody of someones actual name. Like...Terry Schlotz....yeah, that'll work...and then post things were you can totally just say stupid things and not be held accountable or feel that you have to be held accountable because it's a fake name.

Problem solved.

Yeah. I'm way too damn lazy for all of that. I'll just continue to post facts and piss people off.
Problem solved for me anyway.

Yes, because the Blazers being 8 games under .500 with Dame, CJ, and Whiteside healthy is made up? The Blazers being DEAD LAST in assists in entire NBA for 2 of last 3 season is made up? The Blazers having the highest payroll in NBA is made up?

Yes, that is made up. Check your facts shyster. :biglaugh:

Nice deflection. Just another clue as to who you used to be.

What does any of that have to do with someone making up an account with a screen name that makes fun of someone who works for the franchise?

Here's a hint:
It has nothing to do with what I said.

This x2! I've read people upset that we haven't given more minutes to 3 undrafted prospects with no track record of success in the NBA. When those guys have got in, people are complaining about how bad of a lineup we have in; so you can't win.

I hate that our roster is so bad that we're playing Swanigan, Mario, Trent, etc. but that should be an indicator of the talent level of those who are not playing.
I think people are thinking that the unknown has to be better than the known-to-be-bad.

Pretty interesting view of the game? I'm assuming you are talking about the November 13th game here in Portland.

Yes Little started. He played the first 9 mins of the game. Missed three shots and left the game 0-2 from 3 point and he missed a pull up jumper. He did get a couple defensive rebounds.
Siakam shot the ball eight times. he missed a couple wide open looks from three and Bazemore blocked one of his layups. He ended the quarter with 7 points a couple offensive rebounds and a three defensive rebounds.

Little left the game for Mario who did very little to help the team also on his first shift.
Little returned to the game 4:32 left in the second quarter.

Little immediately turns the ball over for a Pascal dunk!
Little then proceeds to get lost on defense and allows a 3 pointer by Davis after an assist by Pascal. He does get a good look on a jumper and Hassan finds him for a layup.
At the end of the first half Pascal has 14 points 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
Little still 2-5 for 4 points and 3 rebounds

On to the Third quarter. Stotts decides to stick with Little. But it doesn't go real well. Little gets blocked on a layup and misses a three pointer again but even worse he tries an acrobatic dunk and misses the dunk???? One bright spot he does finally hit a three.
After missing the dunk Stotts has had enough! Little is out. Brings in Mario who immediately starts drawing fouls from Boucher and Van Fleet. Mario goes to the line twice and makes 3 of 4. Then Mario makes a three and brings the score to within 6. The Rose garden is rockin!

At this point of the game Stotts goes for a win. Plays Lillard, CJ, Bazemore, Hood and Whiteside. He also brings in 1M for periods and Simons does make some shots but gets torched on defense.
It should be noted that Skal put in some really good minutes. Much needed because Little had racked up 4 fouls. Also Whiteside was still nursing a sore ankle.

Blazers go on to lose this game 114-106 and Pascal Siakam puts up 11 points in the third quarter for a total 25 and eventually 11 more in the fourth for a grand total of 36 points 7 rebounds 3 assists a block and a steal.

Sorry @hoopsjock Little absolutely never "Shut Down Pascal Siakam for 3 Quarters"
Bottom line- The Raptors were a much better deeper team But here is the best quote of all-

Mario ended up with 10 points in half the minutes was +3 and brought in 6 rebounds with a steal. He smoked Little.

Facts Matter.

Here is the game play by play. Tell me i'm wrong here?

Again WRONG! Siakam went 5-6 in the 4th quarter. He came in at the 9 min mark. Stotts was using Hood/Bazemore on Pascal. IMO this would be the correct move. Little could not provide the defense Hood/Baze were giving.

So you sum up your entire argument acknowledging that you don't even know if it would have been better?
WOW! How does this kind of delusion start?
That was a very thorough analysis! And quite convincing actually. I can't wait to see the Hoopsjock response!

I think people are thinking that the unknown has to be better than the known-to-be-bad.

What people aren't addressing is that it was only ONE game and that Gabriel barely had a practice and has been a g league player for the most part. Sure Swanigan has flaws but he does know some of the players and has played for the coach for over a year. It might have been an opportunity for Stotts to see where Swanigan is at right now. Way to big of a deal is being made of this decision. Posters need to relax and see how things play out as it seems some are way to quick to jump all over the coach for every little thing as Swanigan didn't cost us the game and I highly doubt Gabriel would have been a difference maker as well.

Sorry man, this is false. A decent amount of those 23 minutes were at the PF with Whiteside on the floor too. I'm fine with Swanigan being the backup big since we're so shorthanded but there is absolutely no excuse for playing him at PF in both halves.

How can I be wrong when this is pretty much exactly what I said? I said he played so many minutes because we have no other BU center, and I said he should not be playing PF.

I'll check back tonight to see if he does.
Understand Hoops is quite possibly one of if not the smartest dudes on this forum. He will counter and he will counter with an argument that will be tough to deny.
That also is fact.

I think you're right this is the view of some for sure. I wish most undrafted G-League players had to be better than the ones on our roster because that would be a much easier path to imrpove. Unfortunately, there are very few examples of this being true, and I hope this isn't our strategy of how to best surround Dame in his prime.

I admit I was wrong. ABOUT it just being the 4th quarter! Siakam went 9/10 after Little left the game not 7/8, my bad, it was worse than I imagined.

I don't know why any offensive numbers for the Blazers are being brought up in a defensive conversation. I never said anything about that end.

Finally, the most damning part of that thread where you responded to Little not playing in the 4th as "criminal." Your words, not mine.

Here are some of your quotes from the Raptors game thread:

Little is CRASH Jr.

You know I cannot for the life of me figure out why he didn’t play him in the fourth? I honestly thought he was just resting him. I even commented that he would put him in. Clown move for sure by Stotts.

You got to admit not putting Little back in was a head scratcher.

Fucking Stotts praising Little. Thought he brought a lot of energy and played well.

I’m waiting for someone to ask him why on earth he didn’t play him in the 4th quarter?

Look that was a clown show move. He started the kid. Little held his own. He brought exactly what they needed. Made no sense to drop back to 3 guard and get man handled.
This game was on Stotts.

How can I be wrong when this is pretty much exactly what I said? I said he played so many minutes because we have no other BU center, and I said he should not be playing PF.
Sorry if I took it the wrong way but you said he played 23 minutes because there was no other option at BU C. Whiteside played 33 minutes so 8 of Caleb's minutes were with Whiteside.

he’s got some Meyers in him, in that he’s just generally clueless. One possession last night he got the ball in a broken set with 14 seconds left. Everyone including Dame telling him to attack and he ends up holding the ball for 10 seconds trying to get it to Dame or Melo before making some stupid move.

another one late second where he waived a bunch of guys off to post up biggie for a fade-away airball. Like what is the thought process for him?
I heard Meyers has the knowledge, just slow to process in game speed

I think you nailed it: These guys abilities are unknown to most on here, but are known to the franchise because they see them every day in practice.
But games are ehat matter, and Little has played better in games. You think Stotts has perfect rotations? I think he's far from that.
