do we need another project? after having project Leonar_ on the team the past 7 years, i dont think we do..

Um yeah ? I'd rather have projects on the 12-15th spots + 2 way contracts than guys we know suck and wont change

We paid Meyers a lot of money as a project and he was already in the league for way too long, that's where the difference is

Luka is insane.
29.1 points, 9.7 rebounds and 9.0 assists with a PER over 30!

He hasn't even turned 21 yet. He could be one of the top player in the NBA in his 2nd season and so much fun to watch.

How fortunate Dallas is for the next 15 years and how crazy was Atlanta to trade the pick. Good for Cuban to figure out when to tank and have a plan to ad pieces to him. Their future is very exciting for years to come.

Compare that to the hamster wheel the Blazers are on :smiley-cmizdri::smiley-cmizdri::smiley-cmizdri:

Dallas never tanked, Cuban wouldn’t do that to Dirk, and their roster was full of vets. They were an average team and then instead of “tanking” decided to pay Matthews, and then Harrison Barnes the following summer. They weren’t trying to lose. They get credit for identifying Doncic’ talent, and took advantage of some other teams mistakes in not drafting him, but that’s about it.

Caleb said he's lost 30 pounds since the last time he was here. He looks a bit slimmer. Listening to him talk he seems more mature than when he left. I have no expectations, but hoping he can carve himself out a niche.

He's in year 3, and this is pretty much make it or break it time for him. He just needs to not be a complete net negative in his 10 mpg. If he's worse than Tolliver was here, then he won't get a second NBA contract.

Boy, Ariza sounds like he just don't give a single fuck.

So what’s he weighing then, 300?

Actually, they did tank. You’re forgetting Cuban went to the players and told the players it would be better for the team if they lost. For the final months of the season, the starters including Dirk were held out of every 4th qtr. It was one of the most blatant tanks of all time. I believe Cuban was fined.

Quite right. And as you pointed out, he was disciplined.

His tone, the way he answers questions, his answers, etc. Feels like he's just here because he has to be.
Hopefully he’ll find it ok here.
The crappy weather isn’t something to get to excited about.

Dude, Ariza man, stop fidgeting. You're stressing me out.

Wouldn't call it great. Wouldn't call it terrible. He's just...............................here.

I'm so excited, I got goose bumps from that interview.

Wonder what the rotation is gonna look like tomorrow, specifically who will get minutes behind Whiteside. Safe guess Biggie will get first crack. Boban, Kleber and Porzingis are gonna eat him alive.

Well, even if they do, there will be a lot of Caleb left over. Because he's a big dude, you know.

I disagree 100%. Did you watch the whole video? He talks about his kids, family, and the desire to help the team however he can; to make a push for the playoffs. I like the dude already. The majority of posters on Clutchfans are kinda pissed that their GM Morey didn't get him back. Just IMHO from lurking on that site, but to them, he's kinda like our Steve Blake. I think we got a winner. We sure as hell can use him....

Edit: and take what I say with a TON of salt. I was SO excited when we got Uncle Festus, Gasol, and even Tolliver. My selection for players to support REALLY sucks!

Ariza is a perfect fit for how Portland plays. He doesn’t need the ball, hits open shots, defends, and rebounds well for his position. I’m not worried about his offensive numbers in Sacramento; he wasn’t starting (Ariza is at his best when playing 30+ minutes) and the kings play a slower paced style of basketball.

Wasn't the question "how do you describe this season"?

The guy has been on about 13 different teams. Why would he act excited? He might be traded again in a couple of weeks.
He went from a lottery team to another lottery team who has been decimated with injuries. Not much to get excited about at his age.

His tone, the way he answers questions, his answers, etc. Feels like he's just here because he has to be.

The second question asked if he was in a better situation now, basically asking him to dis on is previous team, and then they asked him a bunch of bland questions.

My interpretation is that he is unfazed by being traded and will fit in great.

In fact I'm pleased enough to say: he's not your Ariza, he's not my Ariza, he is Ariza.
