CJ made only 7/20 fg... again, he took 20 shots, 2x more than next players while shooting under 40%... and many of them were on possessions where no one else touched the ball... his ISO ball prevented any other player from getting consistent looks and building a rhythm... even when his shots are falling, this style of play is not good for the success of the franchise
People see 20 shots and just automatically assume it's ISO Ball, because they can't pay enough attention. At least 80% of his shots came within the flow of the offense. A few came on fastbreaks. He barely isolated but people can't see the difference between going 7/20 in the flow of the offense and going 7/20 on isolations.

He wasn't that ISO tonight but he still CONSTANTLY misses open teammates when he has the ball and draws multiple defenders to him.

He missed passes, yes. But he took pretty good shots and its the people that can't pay enough attention to a game that think he played ISO ball.

Blazers had only 14 assists... thats what happens when CJ plays ISO ball
C.J. didn't play any ISO ball this game dude. Pay attention. Blazers having 14 wasn't because C.J. was isolating, because he wasnt. The hole team missed shots except Dame, who had to create pretty much everything on his own.

He played a big role in choking this game away though.

The dude averaging 24pts and 16reb per 36 on 58% 2pt shooting coming into this game is not a liability... Maybe defensively though.
His stats are fine sure, but he’s getting benched a lot for a reason. Tonight he had more turn overs than made fg’s. He has way too much of a tendency to put up weak shots. On defense he’s not mobile enough to do anything when he gets switched, he just sags back and watches guys hit 3’s.

He's been finishing strong to start the season...

He’s been better at it finishing strong, yes but he’s still got a tendency to throw up weak looking shots. Dont get me wrong, Im not saying Nurkic’s career is done, or that he sucks. Im hust saying its concerning to me that especially on defense he has been really dissapointing. Offensively at times too, but yes he’s been better at finishing.

I was a nurk fan. But I honestly think his numbers look better than his actual play. I'm not saying he's bad, but he scores a lot of garage points, and fumbles the ball a lot. And misses a lot inside.

OK, so he missed shots and open team-mates despite staying within the flow of the offense. I'm not sure that is grounds for optimism going forward.

CJ is quietly shooting great from 3 point range this year and no one seems to notice.

To be fair I really am not a Stotts fan at this point, and I think Stotts rotations are questionable, and he allows his bigs (ALL of them) to be put in bad situations way too much.

Dame is absolutely on fire recently just by the way. He’s gotta be close to leading the league in ppg. Unfortunately we wasted that this game
He was third coming into tonight’s game. I think behind Blake Griffin and Curry. Kemba has been killing it too. Blake only had 7 tonight.

He is....but he's also shooting .382 overall which is the bigger picture and clouds over his 3-pt percentage. That and his very low assist total and poor Asst/TO ratio combined with very poor defense and if he's not shooting it well, he contributes very little. He really needs his own team away from Dame and I think he would be much better.

He’d be interesting in Minnesota ;)

You are right. I was just pointing out the one thing he is doing well. They’ve been pretty clutch at the right time too.
