Damn what the fuck happened to Melo lately? At worse he was always money with catch and shoot shots. He doesn’t even have that lately

Nas plays great defense, has a great drive, but misses one three and he's taken out for Melo who immediately bricks a 3 and gets scored on and doesnt rotate under to take away Gobert under the rim.

But heres the narrative that people give me a lot that I dont get: He basically has little to no chance for success when he's dropped, but we cant try anything else because it theoretically wouldnt work.

I agree that the logic you're saying you've been given by others is not strong.

I do think Kanter is a liability in EVERY coverage option.

I thought our defense in the 1st half (minus the Kanter minutes) was more than acceptable.

Duplicating it in the 2nd half will be a real test.

Can someone give me a single goddamn reason we would rather play Melo at center than almost anyone else? I mean half the fucking time it was Dame or Norman or CJ guarding GOBERT.

Yeah I was pleased. Ran drop with Nurkic and he played it beautifully, while Utah didnt capitalize on the open jumpers out of it.

HOWEVER, if Mitchell starts getting hot hitting the open jumpers itll give him (like he did the first 3 minutes), then we'll need to adjust and start playing up at the point of attack. We wont though.

Not a bad 1st half. Have the lead. Can't ask for much more. Blazers need to show up for two more quarters though.

Side Note: Stotts is giving Melo way too many minutes

If Lillard could only regain his form from 3pt range.... wtf is going on

Probably, but it makes absolutely no sense not try adjust when what you're running is getting killed. They got a great shot every time we dropped Kanter, so theres no where t otl go but up with an adjustment. Yet I guarantee you we'll run drop with Kanter again in the 2nd half, and itll make no sense.

I don't think holding them to 53 in the 2nd half is realistic, but we also left some points out there.

Overall, this was a good 1st half. My expectations for the 2nd half aren't high, but that's why they play the game! Jazz are 22-2 at home for a reason.

Melo is a negative out there tonight. Hopefully Stotts will play Nas over Melo in the 2nd half. Nas played well on both ends while he was in there.

we're finally playing well against a good team, and our idiot coach cant get out of his fucking way. his double standard with melo is ruining my enjoyment of this team.

Powell, Roco, and Nas. That's why Portland is ahead. Powell on Gobert! You have to love the guy. Don't let that nucleus walk Neil.

Yeah, he is struggling from deep. Compensating by going to the basket
