Jake and Meyers both showed glimpses in their first year. In fact, Jake was nearly a 50/40/90 rookie and Jake had his outburst against the Warriors. I haven't seen anything close to that from Biggie.
He hasn't sniffed court time...he's a project ...but I'm not down on the kid as the 14th player on the roster yet...guys like him need to go up against starting vets and learn by mistakes...we aren't tanking...he's not getting that burn...hence..G league

Yeah man. I honestly though Biggie would be a gym warrior and hit the weight room. I honestly think he's happy just being in the league. Boy, he 'sgot the right General Manager for that!

As this is my ballet class night, I can say tonight's game was like a competition between Baryshnikov and a first year ballet student

I will admit I understand this reference (I once dated a professional ballerina for several years).

Do you understand your audience? Most these folks have no clue of what you’re talking. I mean, I barely understand. No disrespect intended (towards you, at least).

You can't coach athletic ability into him.

With 20 seconds left, I stood to give the team a standing ovation. The woman behind me said “Hey Buddy! Can you sit down so we can see the game?” I sat down but wtf? I should have told her off. Bummer ending to great night.

Yeah, but just watch Swanigan when he's in the game. Just watch him. He moves like he's stuck in the mud and everyone else is on roller skates and pogo sticks.
I listen to games on the radio for the most part but I watched his G league games and he can hoop...don't care what the detractors say..the nba game has to slow down for him and he's not there yet...project in my view

I bet her name was Brenda. It's always a Brenda.

You need to watch. G league is beyond worthless. Worse than summer league.

Blazers at a season high 12-games over 500.
(And yes, I heard Brian Wheeler even say that after the game, so the 'games over 500' definition should be put to rest.)

The Blazers are 3 games behind the 2014-15 pace, and 3 games ahead of the 2017-18 pace. That 50 win target is within sight!

well that's your opinion...I watched every player from the Blazers play G league and got a good idea of what they could do..sure they don't play much defense..it's more like euro ball. I don't watch college ball..I watched Jake Layman in G league and was one of the only fans to think he had an NBA game....you don't get that impression from him waving a towel

Why so hard to get the reference? Baryshnikov was a household name ballet dancer in the 80s. He even did movies. If you knew who Kareem was, you knew who Baryshnikov was. He was that famous.

It's a glorified rec league.

Dude, you’re giving too much credit to these S2 folks.

Not trying to hate, I’m just being honest.

You life, experiences, interests..... most these dudes would not understand. Admittedly, I’d know the name but nothing else if not for my relationship. No disrespect intended.

I was mocked in my 32 losses thread for saying we could win 50.

18 of the remaining 30 games are on the road. To get to 50 wins, they will have to earn it.

But he had quickness. And he had a skill for putting the ball in the hoop.
His feet were what kept Randolph in the league and allowed him to thrive. He had quick feet and amazing fundamental footwork for a big Thicc guy like that.

I've seen this narrative so many times about the end of the bench guys..my point is they were not so long ago those guys.

You may have a point with Jake...but if Swanigan is going to follow the Leonard learning curve, they can tie a millstone around his neck and drop him off the Burnside bridge tonight. The investment this team made in Leonard, in both money and playing time, is hopelessly out of proportion to his value.

Phooey. This is too depressing to get into. Blazers won, my meds are kicking in, it's all good!

Well the young ones wouldn’t know but the old ones should.

You’re giving credit where credit ain’t due.

Many folks would know the name without knowing anything more than it referred to ballet. We Portland. We ain’t that fancy.

You should be as persistently optimistic (and oblivious) at games as you are on here.

You always have to earn it. We’ve shown we can beat good teams on the road in pressure circumstances. Also- a lot of these road games are against crappy teams. I’m confident we’ll get to 50.
