Stop with the over the topness. Harden is an amazing player and a top sg in the leagueThe truth is Harden isn't a starter in this league. He should be the 6th man on the Thunder and he'd have 2-3 rings with more to come.
Do you think they will sign Howard in the offseason, and if so, for about how much? $29mil/year? What do you think Morey is going to do?
Welcome back Superbeard. Was afraid you were ran out of town last time. Please answer any of these that you feel interested in.The only way they sign Howard this year is if they sign Durant with him. That's it. Otherwise they will be quick to cut ties with him. He's not worth the max, someone will give it to him but it won't be Morey unless they are trying to sign Durant (and they will) and he sells to Durant. Durant and Harden are REALLY good friends. I mean it is a longshot, but all Rocket fans hear is how Durant and Harden are like brothers. It's what keeps most Rocket fans sane these days.
Morey has enough cap for two max contracts and Harden has two years left...so whatever he does it has to be great. He can't make a misstep here. This offseason will be difference of being a contending team or complete rebuild

Shit man that is amazing!

1. Do you think the Rockets would be better off without Dwight Howard?
2. In free agency do you target players to play behind Harden and let him be the star, or do you try to find a way to make him more of a role player?
In regards to 2: I'm not sure the Rockets can land the players good enough (Durant) to make Harden the 2nd or 3rd option. I think the Rockets would be better off keeping Howard and building around him, and trading Harden in the off season. This is what I think would be best for your team... Of course what I want to happen is for them to get rid of Howard and keep Harden at the helm.
I saw somebody on Clutchfans the other day who said something about "Rebuilding the way the Blazers have"...You guys do realize that Morey is not Neil Olshey, right?
3. What is your opinion on Morey? Do you think he is part of the problem and needs to go? Or do you think he is a competent GM? What exactly has he done in the past years to give you confidence?

Us right now100+ replies before the start of the game. I like it.
I agree that is an overboard accusation but I also don't think Morey is a top GM either. Definitely a middle of the road GM in my book. He's just a swing big guy who happened to get Howard (How much of this was Morey, how much Harden). He overpaid for Harden and made him the first option, where he does not fit. That's a bad move in my book, and not one that "one of the best" would make. You say he didn't have much to do with Lawson, that's true, but lets be honest - there was reason to be concerned regarding Lawson who had just come off of his second DUI.Nah, will be hard to scare me off.
1. Yes, Howard is past his prime. He's never going to be Orlando Dwight again. His game was predicated on being a super athlete, he's not that any more. If you are getting another really good playe
2. I think they will target whoever they can. Conley, Horford, Durant would be on this list. I don't think you can build around Howard and he's going to be past 30. Harden is still a young player.
3. Morey is an excellent GM. One bad season doesn't make him a bad GM or even close to incompetent. The truth is this team was predicted to be a contender. Before the season it was said to be stacked. Morey acquired that talent, he didn't have much to do with the chemistry issues. He didn't have much to do with Lawson being a failure or the regression of players. As for what he's done for confidence? Well the Rockets are a top 5 team since Howard+Harden. I think the Rockets would be wise not to overreact. Sometimes a team has a bad year because of this or that. The Rockets have been highly competitive since Morey took the helm, he makes mistakes but so does every GM in the league.
I see a lot of stuff about Morey, a lot of piling on. Like an article comparing the Rockets to the 6ers. It's going overboard now. Morey is one of the best GMs in the NBA. The only knock on him is he doesn't have championships, but that's like more than half of the NBA now.
Daryl Morey just threw his rip city tshirt at me after I told him to put it on hahahah
