Welcone to the world of zero D. With Nurk & Zach down, Aminu & Hark gone, get used to it. Oh and Hezonja is god-awful. Please don’t play him any more.

On the bright side, Simone is gonna be something else.

Heartbreaker. Oh my God, this one hurts.

Points in the Paint
Us - 40
Them - 84

Our three point shooting kept us in it, our lack of centres kept them in it.

That was this game in a nutshell. They scored at will in the paint thanks to all that size. Even when we were up 20 I honestly doubted we were going to win. They just seemed to be able to do whatever they wanted, and it was only a matter of time.

The one moment I was absolutely 100% sure we'd win the game was after the Ant three pointer. And then.....

Feels bad, man.

But on the plus side, that three pointer plus his final game of last season seem like the first few seconds of a montage about a legend. That's Lillard-level storyboarding there. I'm excited to see what Simons becomes.

There's no excuse for playing Tolliver at the end. Terry is a fool for putting him so high on the pecking order. Not good for the future of the franchise, not good for the current squad, so why does he continue to play a very low quality basketball talent instead of one like Skal with dramatically more suitable skills? Oh confident Terry, you just lost another game.

Yeah, but also, SWITCH!!! Thats what you do with 2 seconds left on an inbounds. The fact that it wasnt the gameplanning is absolutely ridiculous.

Going back and watching the end again, I'm not sure you will see a player create more of a gap to get an open shot than what the legendary Furkan Korkmaz got last night. Unbelievable lack of coaching/awareness/basketball IQ. I get that there are new players but that is defense 101 when there are 2 seconds left.....SWITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had Dame and CJ and Hood. All 3 got hot at the same time. Even pur role players shot well. We should never lose a game like that. Took us shooting ourselves in the foot to lose that game.
Or maybe a Hood injury on top of four other injuries and some adjustments from the other team. 20 points in this league is never safe outside of 5 mins left. Seen a 12 point swing in 3 mins way to many times. Role players shot well until the fourth. Seems like having that threat that Hood provides does make a difference. Blazers were outscored by 12 points in the second half. Eleven of those in the Fourth, by a team many consider to be the odds on favorite to win the East. They were outscored in the paint 84 to 40. Outrebounded 46 to 36 for obvious reasons. The one Center they had was getting punished and pushed around. Skal was stripped 4 times and could only grab 4 rebounds in 23 mins. The only player a threat to get a rebound was Mario. If the Blazers have even one quality Big in that game they win. They were forced to play small and it cost them the game.
Not gonna sweat that loss.

I'm starting to doubt if this injury riddled team will make the playoffs. Seems like a cursed year. When you have to start Anthony tollivet at center

Why do we even guard the inbounder in that play? Why not defend 5 on 4? I really don't understand that.
Probably a real good question. The inbounder quite often is the guy open for the shot but in this case there was only 2.2 seconds so the extra pass probably was not possible. I just think Lillard was caught out of position a bit there.

The inbounder was Simmons too, you want him to be a shooter if they dont guard him and he gets the ball back you live with him shooting.

Were they loading up on Richardson and Horford? Stotts pulled Simons for Skal. Maybe should have had Mario in? To me it just looked like Lillard was a bit out of position? Or was that supposed to be his man? They pulled Ennis and put in Korkmaz for that final look. Maybe Lillard was in position and someone didn't switch? Hard to say on that one? Maybe it was Lillard that didn't switch?

the theme is this team loses big leads game after game. I get that nba is a game of runs but this is getting to be regoddamndiculous. calling time out when you see the run coming is not a bad thing terry.

but imho they are going to be the laughing stock of the league if this continues. the wcf was so embarrassing and the theme continues. this is on coaching. thankfully he is locked in for the next 18 years. we are stuck with him and no parade.

I think I will pass on Monday's game. Kerr is too much for terry to deal with.

Lillard was not out of position. The guy Tolliver was guarding set a screen that blocked Lillard from following Korkmaz. Tolliver should have switched onto Korkmaz but instead he he backed into the paint. At least that is what I saw. I don't think Stotts told them not to switch, so to me, that's on the veteran Tolliver.

You better hope the bandwagon allows you back on. No offense, but no team needs fans who quit so easily.

Dame just robbed Ant his first game winner with non existent defense.

howd you get that? I see it on tolliver or the coach. Tolliver should have switched when dame had a screen set on him. or coach didn't tel tolliver to switch (why the hell not?)

edit: been said by others i now see

These injuries are what killed us tonight. Yes we gave up too big of a lead and yes we should have got that one last stop but we didn't and I think that was due in large part to injuries. Dame was great tonight by the way and that last play on d certainly wasn't his fault.
Dame shot lights out but he also had 7 turnovers in the game and 2 of came late in the game that was costly.

true. just frustrating

Just remember, it's just a game and much more important things in life than the success of a sports team. I love my Blazers but never let it interfere with my life as it's really just entertainment and like I have always said, i have no control over it anyway. I will always root and watch the Blazers or any of the teams I root for no matter what.

Tolliver said on Twitter that switching wasnt the gameplan.

Tolliver basically said they werent planning to switch.

It was an obvious switching situation and Tolliver shouldve switched to the corner. But Tolliver said on Twitter that switching wasnt the gameplan, so that's a ridiculous mistake by Stotts. You always switch everything in that situation. Not doing so cost us the game.

Just curious, let's say Furkan misses. Would you have given Stotts creedit for winning the game?

It's not as simple as "Win = Credit" and "Loss = Criticism".

He made many coaching mistakes up until that point. And if Furkan misses, not switching there is still ridiculous.

It was simple enough for you to blame Stotts for the loss for not switching. So why isn't it as simple the other way? Appears there is a bias in your response.
