If he stays healthy i have absolutely no problem with Nurk other than i would like to see him take the ball to the hoop and dunk more. He plays a bit soft. My problem comes with his injury history.

Charlotte is 4-2, but already 3-1 on the road. Portland has only played 1 road game so far. This might be tougher than I think it should be.

Preseason when I looked at our first 30 games, this was one I had down as a win. Not feeling the same now.

From watching the way that guy plays i totally see why he gets injured. He puts his body on the line a bunch every game. Goes full speed ahead and with total abandon. He is amassing nagging injuries quickly.

“I like the fact that we’ve just been kind of on one string defensively. We’ve had a ton of breakdowns to be honest with you, but we play so hard that we’ve been able to cover for some of those and make up for some of those lapses. It’s the NBA, it’s basketball. You’re going to have breakdowns, you’re going to have those situations. If you’re playing hard enough and competing hard enough, sometimes you can make up for it, sometimes you can’t, Nobody’s going to play perfect basketball, so I just want us to continue competing and communicating on defense. It seems like when it’s going right it’s so much fun to do, these dudes are having a lot of fun. They like to take pride in getting kills, which is three stops in a row for us. “I loved coaching him. Absolute pro. Came to work every day, put in his time. Great teammate. Did everything we asked as a staff of him. Never complained, brought it every single day. Played extremely hard and I’m just thankful for my time with him. He was a fantastic person be around no. 1 and a great player. I know he’s going to help those guys out in Portland, but nothing but positives for Cody. He was fantastic here.”


On if they have been cautious with Terry in recent games:

“Yeah, we’ll be cautious. We’ve been cautious with all our guys. It’s early in the season, we didn’t want to put him out there. Terry wanted to play two, three games ago. We want to make sure we’re not rushing him back, we don’t have any setbacks and that we get him ready for this long stretch. It’s a marathon here. Hopefully he’s ready to go tonight.”
