:reading:BLAZERS' OFFICIAL GAME NOTES

• Friday marks the first of four matchups between the Trail Blazers and Mavericks in 2016-17.

• Dallas won two of its three games against Portland in 2015-16 to solidify its fourth season series over the Trail Blazers in the past five years (one tie).

• The Trail Blazers lost their lone game against the Mavericks last season and have now lost four consecutive games in Dallas. Portland is 2-9 in its last 11 contests in Dallas dating back to the start of the 2010-11 season.

• The Trail Blazers won their final game against the Mavericks on March 23 of last season. Portland hasn’t won consecutive games against Dallas since it won two straight over the Mavericks during the 2010-11 season.

• Damian Lillard averaged a team-high 26.0 points (42.3% 3-PT) and 8.0 assists in three games against Dallas last season. Lillard scored at least 20 points in all three of those contests after recording 20+ points in two of his first 11 career games against the Mavericks.

• Allen Crabbe averaged 16.0 points on 51.7% shooting (11-18 3-PT) in three games against Dallas in 2015-16 (1st in ppg among Western Conference teams).

• Mason Plumlee averaged 9.0 points and 10.7 rebounds in three games against the Mavericks last season. Plumlee recorded 14 points (5-9 FG) and a career-high 19 rebounds (10 offensive) in Portland’s lone trip to Dallas last season on March 20.

• CONNECTION: Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts helped lead Dallas to the 2011 NBA Championship in one of his four years as a Mavericks assistant coach from 2008-12.

• CONNECTION: Dallas guard Wesley Matthews (826) ranks second behind Damian Lillard (841) on Portland’s all-time three-point list. He averaged 15.4 points on 43.8% shooting in five seasons with the Trail Blazers from 2010-15.

• CONNECTION: Portland center Festus Ezeli was teammates with Harrison Barnes and Andrew Bogut for four seasons from 2012-16. All three players joined the Warriors prior to the start of the 2012-13 season.

Deron questionable, Seth Curry probably gonna go off on us.

Dirk is also doubtful.

Would be embarrassing if we lose this one.

I see them in about 10th place, but I do not like having to face them without a win right now. We know how that went in Phoenix....
Ugh...

I'm convinced Aminu will never shoot decent from the 3 point line ever again like he did last year

No big in the paint? Yeah that's about an automatic 2 points for Dame.

So far so good. Only need to play 46 solid minutes of basketball.

I will say cjs defense has improved quite a bit. This is the moment where we need to take Dallas out of the game, just step on them up 6-0. Do what we should of did to Phoenix

Good start. Fucking FTs though; Jesus! We need a coach who can focus our guys on that during practice.

Lol. Dallas sucks at defense more than we do.

We switch on screens too damn much. We just tried to switch on a screen when we didn't even remotely need to and it resulted in an open layup.

Here we go blowing another lead.

Big Plums size is giving them problems inside. I'd like to see what Vonleh can do to them in the paint.

Stotts loves to switch on screens. That's why Dame always ends up guarding Dirk

At least he called a fucking time out, instead of waiting for Dallas to go up 10 points.

Think, ET. Which shot would we prefer they take: crippled Wes trying to horse up a shot over Dame, or wide open 3 by a guy who is currently shooting 50% in his first 4 games?

It's stupid. And lazy. We need to work hard to stay on our assignments at all times through whatever screens. But we often see a screen and give up on it and switch.

Stotts loves to switch on screens. That's why Dame always ends up guarding Dirk

I can't tell if Stotts wants them to play lazy defense, or the players are just lazy and aren't held accountable.

Good time out but 2nd need to be ready to play when they go in it seems like the other teams automatic get run.

im confused on what turner brings to the table
