I want Lafreniere out there in place of Copp for the last :15 here.
 
We look lost with the empty net. No one is in front screening. Everyone is to the side of the goal. No one willing to take that abuse and get that dirty goal. Oh well.

Exactly. Tampa skirted the salary cap but got away with it. Everyone knows it. It’s similar to the Astors World Series win. It may be there but true fans will always put an asterisk next to it.
 
1 even strength goal in the last 4 games won't cut it. Quite frankly that is embarrassing.

Mistake by Gallant, Strome never should have played tonight, that was clear from the start. Doubt Kakko makes a difference, but very bad choice by Gallant.

Panarin 2 even strength points in the last 13 games - TWO. This guy absolutely has to go. He was a joke in these playoffs. Couldn't score, turned the puck over time and time again. Played weak and soft. He has to go if they can somehow convince him to waive his NMC.

# 1 priority, must add a # 2 C this summer. I am sick and tired of saying that season after season, and we refuse to address it. I like Copp, but if he isn't reasonable you let him go, and must add a real legit # 2 C who can win a FO. Tired of asking for him.
 
I’ve been thinking about it since Mess has been doing gameson ESPN. Get messier in this organization please. I don’t care what position he can serve. Just get him some sort of role. He won’t allow this garbage in the playoffs

It wasn’t a “losing” season unless you mean because they didn’t win a cup. If you told any of us we’d make the ECF on the preseason or even the first month of the season we’d all gladly take it. Several changes must be made though. And it starts with getting 0anarin off this team. He’s already teaching the young guys his soft ass ways of skating into the zone and pulling up instead of driving deep. By hook or by crook he MUST be traded.
 
This is for another day, but let's also say we had a great season - made it way further than anyone could have expected. Arrow pointing up on this young team. Great experience this year. This should be something to build off of.

Must add a # 2 C though. I will keep saying it until it is finally addressed. Nothing else matters to me until that is done.

Trade 0anarin for one? lol This team won’t win with him here, I’m telling you that right now. You cannot win with one of your “star” players simply refusing to shoot every time and turning it over constantly.
 
There’s no good feelings from me that they made the ECF. No matter how good any of these players turn out to be no guarantee they’ll be back anytime soon

Jesus, this team was maybe barely predicted to make the playoffs, now we are acting like it is a disgrace and terrible season because we lost in the ECF to the 2 time defending SC champs - come on now.

Ridiculous we scored 1 even strength goal in the last 4 games, but let's keep perspective big picture please. We are not far away, need to add a little more and we'll be good. And we have a stud ready to burst next season in Lafreniere, and maybe Miller also.

Laf worries me only in that I hope he doesn’t see what 0anarin does with his soft, pansyass playing and try to copy that since 0anarin never loses ice time despite being one of the worst “stars” on the team.
 
They should've tried that Kreider backdoor play again at the end. Fox sure as heck wasn't going to shoot. What happened to he and Panarin working so well off each other?
 
Not worried about Lafreniere even one bit. Kid already has shown he has the perfect game for playoff hockey, and he is going to be a stud. Zero concern about him. He is special, plays both ends, and isn't afraid to get dirty.

Kakko I am concerned about. Needs to stay healthy, and so far in his very young career, he hasn't shown me half of what Lafreniere has.

Yes but vets will rub off on young guys. Keep him away from our charmin soft vets and get a true power forward in here to help groom Laf. That should be on our wish list too.

Players are who they are. Panarin influencing other players games doesn't bother me, it really doesn't, especially not Lafreniere.

I don't disagree on a power forward, but in theory we have Kreider and we only have so much money to spend. I put adding a true # 2 C miles ahead of any other need. I am sick and tired of being weak down the middle. Drury needs to do whatever it takes to address the need. I have said it for 3 years now, and this has to be the time with Strome gone. Must add.
 
I try to keep frank the tank and look to trade chytil hoping someone looked at the Carolina series and think he has all this potential.

If we can get a young #2 center man I'd trade chytil and kakko but they also need to take nemmeth's salary

My main concern is we got career years out of Kreider (reg season and playoffs), Zib (reg season and playoffs) and Panarin (reg season) and there's no guarantee they'll have the same production next season, let alone improve upon it and Lafreniere and Kakko are not ready to make up that gap. Kreider, who had never even scored 30, suddenly put in 50+ so a regression to his career averages is not far fetched at all, probably even likely.

I think Copp ideally is a great 3rd line C. I would give him $5M - maybe $5.2M tops - but if he is the difference between finally adding a legit # 2 C, he has to go. Re-sign Vatrano and Motte instead.
 
Kreider won't score 50 next year, but 35 is fair. I see no reason why Z and Panarin (if here) won't do what they always do. And I disagree on Lafreniere. He is ready to explode next season, and I have little doubt he will. And Miller will take his offensive game up also I think.
