Perfect game for Baldwin to get his shot. Napier and Turner are starting meaning there’s no ballhandler with the second unit. Baldwin also has familiarity going up against these guys in practice.

Second unit:

Baldwin
CJ
Pat
Collins
Davis

And against his old Memphis team no less.

Not saying it should or shouldn't happen.
However I will never understand fan bases fascination with 'giving players a shot' when you're still trying to win games.
I'm sure baldwin is getting his shot in practice.

i think we should just rest the lot this game. If we lose, we lose big.

We've got 'em at every starting position except center;
We've got 'em at coach;
We've got a better bench;
Our uniforms look better.

They've got home court advantage.

This should be a win.

Gasol is washed up. I'd take Nurkic over him 100 times out of 100.

Just because a guy doesn’t play doesn’t mean he can’t. An opportunity has opened up. Someone has to fill minutes. Baldwin is the best option imo.

Many people thought the same thing about Layman last year.

Pending injury, Napier is going to eat most if not all of Lillard's minutes. The rest with go to the baseball player.
As it should be.

Baldwin knows the grizzlies better than every Blazer. He’s gone up against those guys every day for over a year. If this wasn’t against Memphis and a back to back, I’d say sure, give everyone more minutes. But this is a perfect circumstance for Baldwin to play and help us win.

Its not because of it just being for the hell of it. It's because:
1.) Pats been horrible lately and I don't think WB4 can be much worse.
2.) It's the Grizzlies so WB4 knows them and will play with a huge chip on his shoulder.
3.) We don't have a ball-handler off the bench if we don't play Wade.
4.) It's him or Layman. We have to play one of them with Moe and Dame being out.

Honestly, I'd start Wade. We're gonna need Shabazz's scoring when CJs out of the game, and bringing him off the bench allows us to do so. Shabazz can finish the game but I'd do a perimeter rotation of:
Baldwin (14) / Napier (34)
McCollum (36) / Baldwin (6) / Pat (6)
Turner (30) / Pat (18)

I’m all for that but I just know Stotts goes with:

Shabazz
CJ
Turner
Aminu
Nurkic

Pat replaces CJ near the 5 minute mark of the first quarter. Collins and Davis come in as usual. Second quarter: CJ replaces Napier and Aminu replaces Turner.

CJ
Pat
Aminu
Collins
Davis

Then midway through the second Napier replaces CJ and Turner replaces Pat and holy shit yeah one of Layman or Baldwin has to play. Or Biggie. Dope.

Napier takes Lillards minutes.

Connaughton takes Napier’s (lol)

Baldwin takes Connaughtons.

That could also work.

We have four rotational perimeter players. ET, CJ, Bazz, and Pat. They'd each have to play 36 minutes rotating between the PG, SG, and SF spots for neither Jake or WB4 to play. Or we have to play Aminu at SF for a stretch which Stotts hasn't done all year.

He’s played Aminu at SF this year a couple times. I remember because I beg for it every game, especially back when Harkless was moping. I’m all for Collins getting more minutes so I’d be ok with it.

Could make sense to play him at SF and have him guard Evans.
