Comparing the starting lineups, do the Blazers really have an advantage anywhere outside of point guard?

That’s kind of the exact opposite of what I thought? Looks to me like other than center the Blazers have it covered. The bench looks good to me also.
I have to admit I don’t watch Atlanta much and I have not done a stat comparison.
Advantage Hawks due to home court and possibly a Blazer let down. I could see this game go really bad just because it just feels like it’s time for them to breakdown a bit.

Layman's been terrible since the all-star break; Huerter's been significantly better. Advantage Hawks.
There was talk about replacing Moe with Prince earlier in the season, although Moe's been pretty good lately, so I'll give the Blazers the advantage there.
Collins is putting up 19/10 with a 22 PER--I think it's fair to say the Hawks have the advantage at PF. Of course, he doesn't play defense, so...maybe not?

Just saying that with as bad as the Hawks are perceived to be, we shouldn't be looking at this game as a gimme. Fans should be prepared to be annoyed by our defensive deficiencies.

This whole Layman has been terrible stuff just isn’t true at all. Sure his shooting could be better but Jake makes things happen and he absolutely demands that a defender takes him seriously. He rebounds very well and will scramble after loose balls every game. The guy is a winner on and off the court. People need to lay off a guy working that hard. They did the same thing to Pat Con. Look at him this year? Quite possibly most improved player.

You had me until "Pat Con"...

I'm sorry, but on the whole, since the all-star break, he's not been good. I don't doubt that he's running around and playing hard, but he's not producing. And when I compare his production and contribution over the past month with that of the guy on the other side of the court from him tomorrow, Jake quite simply comes out behind. It's not a pronouncement on him as a player, just an accurate, objective assessment of his recent performance.

The 4-headed monster of Zach Skantyers will destroy the Deadman. Collins' defense will make Aminu's offense look worthy of being an All-Star. Harkless will dethrone the Prince and Layman will go Rip City on Huerter's ass....because Nurk said so.

Quote the Raven!

One thing I have seen with Jake now and the past he doesn't shoot well when the game is closed. I am outside shots like the 3 due I think he press to much at that stage of the game. He does a lot better when we have big leads or the other way around. Now once awhile he does hit a three in tight games but overall he shooting percentage goes down at 3 point line.

Will think will give us better look how this team will perform against better competition. My worry is giving up to many offensive rebounds I believe we will the game if we control our defense boards if not this could be a loss.

Trae about to drop 40 on the Blazers but I hope we win.

Not exactly sure how it happened but I literally got stuck on a fucking weird OT thread that started out as a complaint thread that turned into a racial/political thread.....
AHhhhhhhhhhh get me out of that crap!

If I were a less magnanimous mod, I'd move this post over to that thread.

Wait--are you a conservative?

Is this the "easiest game" remaining on our schedule this season? Detroit and Minnesota are going to be tough road games. Denver then Denver is going to be very tough. This is definitely a trap game. I hope Stotts is ready and has plan Bs and Cs ready to deploy , if our boys struggle early. But our bench is full with some guys hungry and wanting to get paid next season !!! Stotts just needs to send them out and tell'm "Go get that Paycheck" ...

Atlanta has been playing well lately. Three straight wins, two against playoff teams. Portland is also down two starters, doubt they’re going to feel comfortable for the rest of the season.

Our bench should be better than theirs, they better show up today. That will be our key to winning this game.

Shit! Easy game my ass. These guys have been playing well.

I take nothing for granted - but is our roster still superior to the opponent? Absolutely.

Well see what players will come achieve something these remaining games besides Dame. Might til who we want to keep this off season.

Our best player is better than their best player. RIP CITY ON THEY ASS!!
