I have really grown to appreciate what Chief does on the court....he has some Rodman in his game..not pretty on offense but he's a rebounding machine and by far our best defender....playing with Nurk we are 10th best defense in the NBA since the allstar break....I watch Chief play all NBA level defense all the time...offensively he's better than some think...he's changed his shot form under CJs mentoring...it shows. his dribble is loose...his passing is loose but all other aspects of his game to me are top notch....he does a lot of the dirty work without much credit for it.

Its still scary to watch him dribble

So it's crunch time and Aminu is in the game with....lets say Dame, Nurk, Crabbe and CJ, and at least two of those have the hot hand....but it's Aminu who is left wide open (with time left on the shot clock) .......do you really feel comfortable with him taking the 24 foot shot in that scenario, or should he pass it back to the better all around shooter?

I pray for other team's 4th and 5th offensive options taking the big shot instead of their star in those situations. Anything to take it out of their hands. Now if it is earlier in the game it is a different situation. But the two in a row that Chief took with 5 minutes to go were not wise IMO.
It's just not his role on the team.
The first problem is that Aminu is on the floor during crunch time.

You need stoppers at crunch time. He is the best stopper on the team. IT would be foolish not to have him in at crunch time.

Apparently Crabbe is really good in a pinch..................................................................

Yeah but sometimes we need him to be. Sometimes he is the best option for defensive purposes. So I would love to have that option on occasion. But I also don't want him to feel like he has to shoot it, just because they leave him wide open. There is no reason to be the shooter, when he has 4 better offensive players on the floor with him. Harkless seems to know his role a little better.

But I agree if he keeps shooting, then he can't be out there in crunch time. (Even if he makes the occasional big shot...which he does)

Comfort is a relative term, and it's situationally dependent. I wasn't real "comfortable" with him taking all those open 3s against LAC in the playoffs last year, but we probably don't win the series if he doesn't.

I don't want him taking the shot with the game on the line, but in some situations it may be the best option (if both Dame and Lillard are smothered and Chief is wide open).

WRT to last night, with the way C.J. was shooting, I was more comfortable with Chief taking those two 3-pointers in the 4th than I was with C.J. shooting the ball. I never thought that would happen, but it did. Last night in the 4th, I actually cringed when C.J. shot. I know shooters need to keep shooting, but C.J. was so off last night, I would have preferred he either act as a decoy or drive and draw a foul than jack up 3-pointers. Up until that point, Chief was 2-3 on 3-pointers, so I didn't freak out when he took those two shots.

But again, totally situational. I would never draw up a play for Chief to take the shot with the game on the line, but sometimes the defense forces your hand.

I have a happy/uneasy feeling when Aminu starts off hot from deep. Happy that he made it, uneasy knowing what is coming next.

Like I said, there is never a dull moment when Chief is on the floor. You just know something is going to happen, you just do't know if it will be something good, or something bad.

Today i learned that Rockets fans hate to see the Rockets play too.
