Cannot argue with this!

Sure so could i if i had a green light to throw up 17 shots from wherever i could find an opening. But that isn't what the original statement was.

Video or it didn't happen!

Sure... The only person in the world that has a shot not effected by tired legs. Sounds legit!

It's what we have all been saying but in the end it's all prefaced with "I think...." so whatever right? The Delusion is strong in this one.

Sure. That always gets you a green light to shoot. Are you the coach also?

This thread has been comical to say the least. Got to hand it to the two "Almost Professional" NBA players that play on the S2 3 on 3 league team. I had a good "Laugh out Loud" read this morning.
Well HJ is a legit 6'5 / 6'6 and I think he's in his early 40's I definitely would not be shocked in the slightest if he did alright in rec league type games with NBA players in them when he was younger. Kind of a funny story when I was 12 I was on a soccer team that was really good, we had a couple of guys including me who had chances to play in various colleges (including me), I actually probably made a mistake choosing basketball. Our coach thought well we have a good team lets set them up for a tournament so he scheduled us to play a bunch of highly ranked varsity high school teams, we got wrecked so hard, one game I remember was 12-0. Anyways that's a long way to say I think going up levels in play and competition is a fun challenge, but can be a humbling process as well. I don't honestly believe anyone on this board right now could hold their own on an NBA court especially in terms of both ends of the court, having to keep up for 20-30 minutes of a game all that goes into it. We would get pulled about an possession or two into the game when the coach finally realized what he had done. That though was not the question, we were discussing to me it was could bones go 2-17. The Answer is an NBA defense would probably give him the Aminu treatment he would get mostly open looks with a guy running at him he could at least get most of them up without being blocked, and could 2 of those go in? I mean honestly, that would not be an incredible feat because 2-17 sucks at any level of basketball.

I wouldn't struggle getting shots off as much as yall say. I have an average release timing for an NBA SG, and I'm 6'5. If I would go 0 for 17 is debatable. I think I could hit 2.[/QUOTE]

6 "I's" in just over one line of post? Are you really having this debate with Jinxspeed? Perhaps that is playing down to someone else's level.

I'm having fun here. That is why i used green font on my response to HJ.
I'm also very certain they could or could have done everything they proclaim. So please don't get my responses as attacks @BonesJones or @hoopsjock. Just messing with you both.
My history with professional/college athletics is well documented so i totally understand where they are at. I was three sport and chose Baseball but had every chance to go football or basketball. Baseball was the "SureBet" that ended up a major injury.
Now i do sprint triathlons and i do the middle age type groups. We time out at 1:10-1:20. Pretty much just trying to stay in shape and keep what i got.

Once again Bones never claimed he could actually make an NBA roster, even he would admit there is no chance of that happening.
Absolutely nothing he said ever made that assumption. All he said was he could shoot 2-17 from three in a game thread. The main point on that is it was said in a "Game Thread". If only people could hear what i say to my TV during a game. It would not be pretty!

Lmaooo. Every NBA player would eat him alive. I thinks it's vastly underestimated how strong NBA players are
That wasnt the topic. The topic was could I shoot without getting blocked, and if I could hit 2 out of 17. Not whether I'd match up strength wise, or whatever.

Dumb post. Obviously I'd be affected by tired legs, but not affected enough to go 1 for 17 or worse. You're not interested in having a discussion though, you're just trolling.

Literally involving all this extra shit... literally, all I said was if I got the same shots the team was getting I couldve made 2 for 17 as well, and that's the truth.

Bro 32,000 + messages does not mean you are in the know. If you had been around anytime before 3 years ago you might actually have read something that would tell you. Of course before three years ago you were still in High School. Yes my past is well documented. I do not feel the need to explain it to you or anyone else.
Come play you say? Would you consider coming and playing at one of mine? Would you like to do the 70.3 or the 51.5 for starters?

I've been around for 4 years. Fine, 3 years, almost 11 months. If it hasn't been documented in that time frame, then it probably isn't well documented. Many of the posters that post here haven't been around as long as I have. Maybe this a poor way of saying - why not just explain what you're talking about instead of being vague? Because I don't know what you're talking about, and I don't think many in here do.

Play in one of yours? Your what, rec league? 70.3? 51.5?

This is your post-
Tired legs don't really affect my shot.

Now if you want to call my post dumb then so be it.

You could ask why I think that. Question it, because I'd be more than happy to explain it. I never said I wouldn't be affected at all, I was just comparing myself to the average shooting form, as that's a big factor.

I release the ball while my feet are just leaving the ground. That's when you're upward momentum is at it's fastest. Doesn't take jumping much at all to get of a shot at distance by shooting like that (just look at Curry). That's compared to most players that shoot right before the peak of their jump, and have to produce a lot more initial upward momentum to retain enough momentum near the peak of their jump to be able to power their shot.

I could show you better in person. It's a form and rhythm-based thing.

Look. I have been posting on Blazer sites for almost 20 years. It's why me and a bunch of other posters on this forum and a few others take pause when we come across certain styles of posting. My days of this kind of thing are well over.
Hope you have a nice evening and have fun with your one on one with Kingspeed. That should be fun for you.

I understand. I have seen it many times.

Okay, you may have documented it well 15 years ago, or whatever. But for most of the people who are reading your post, it's not well documented. Just wanted a better understanding of what you were talking about, but oh well.

I definitely get giggles out of BonesJones thinking that some no-name, community college somehow qualifies as "high level" in this context.

After watching my ugly ass shooting form they would want me to shoot the ball every time knowing I was going to miss. :biglaugh:

Its doesnt qualify as "high level" in "this" context. (Assuming you mean the NBA). Obviously it doesnt.

It qualifies as high level in regards to the forum. People who havent even played in HS are trying to tell me, someone who's played in college and against D1 and fringe NBA players that I dont understand what it's like to play against NBA level players, as if they do, when I've played against much more talented players than they have, and seen just how good no-nsme D1 players are. (Its kinda like you claiming theres no such thing as being in a zone).

But you can try to twist that into me thinking community college basketball is equal to NBA basketball or whatever dumb narrative you want to paint. Be my guest. People twist my words all the time to try to apply their own narratives to my thoughts. Its comical.

And you giggle? Cute.

It's very likely that a large percentage of the posters here played in highschool... which is close enough to community college level. In fact, I bet there was more talent at the top end of my college intramural leagues.

I'll excuse you for speaking from a place of pure ignorance.

My High School was extremely competitive with the likes of Jefferson and West Linn, who had teams that won 5A and 6A championships in Oregon during that time. We lost to Jefferson by 5 in the Les Schwab tournament's consolation championship while playing our entire bench to get them a chance to play. We lost to West Lin by 5 or 6 as well. My high school teams were top notch, but would've lost to my community college team by at least 20, if not more.

My CC team was leading at the half against a team that was a top 5 Junior College in the country and had a lineup of guys who were D1 level players and played D1 later in their career. We lost by 12-15. You think that you're fucking intramural team could've been more competitive than that against a lineup of D1 level players? Are you serious? Lmao.

I'm highly confident that there's more athleticism and basketball talent on the Stanford football team, many of which played intramural basketball, than community college basketball teams.

Ill give you that I played basketball with a guy who played at Stanford once, dude was a crazy athlete, man he was awful at basketball, could jump out of the gym though.

Not sure how it is at other schools but the Oregon State football team got ran out of the rec gym by scrubs. These were the late 90's/early 2000 teams that had several NFL players.

Ive been around more high level NFL / College football guys then basketball players. Amazing athletes, not neccesarily good at basketball though, some are.

Fun times... I went to play with a friend I was visiting at OSU. We were going up against Steven Jackson and some of his buddies. That guy was a beast!

Do you really believe some of this stuff? You place yourself so high up on this basketball mountain above everybody else. With all your "knowledge" of the game because you played against some Community College kids? For awhile I thought you were joking. But you are very serious with this stuff man.

These guys are so amazing at the game and don't even get off the bench. The guys in the G-League are fucking studs man. Guys who go over to Europe are absolute beasts and they can't even get run in the NBA summer league. I really think you hold too high of an opinion of yourself or too low of one for these players...... or maybe a combo of both.

And not even trying to be a dick, I'm just stating that I grew up playing everyday in the parks with 4 guys at least that went on to the NBA- Terrell Brandon, Damon Stoudamire, Doleac, Ime Udoka....... and guys who ALMOST made it, like Aaron Miles and Michael Lee and 20 or so others that played D1 and then Europe, like Matt Santangelo, Orlando Williams, Antoine Stoudamire, Brandon Brooks and the list goes on. I remember we picked up Dunleavy Jr. on our summer league team back in '98 even......... I could handle myself at the park with NO problem, but when these guys all showed up, it was over. I was all about setting screens and getting rebounds, because they were all at another level. And it wasn't even close with these guys. And that was just pickup or summer/city league type games. Dickau showed up once and looked like god damn John Stockton against us. Nothing we could do about it. Shit, my first year in this business Jeff McGinnis was out on the court early and asked if I wanted to shoot around with him. I scored on him and started talking smack because some of our TV crew was watching. He got pissed and started playing for real.....SHIIIIIIIIIT. He dunked on me and stole the ball for the next 10 possessions from me.
ANd I even played one on one in our hotel in SF once against Steve Blake. It was funny man.....he was taking it so easy on me and I could tell. I started giving him a little smack talk and it was like he flipped a switch on and became White Micahel Jordan.
I'm not quite sure you realize how really good they are. I think you need to give a little bit more respect to these people. Bro if you had Wade Baldwin guarding you, he'd snatch the ball from you before your first dribble. And he's flipping burgers somewhere right now.

Sorry man, I just had to speak up. Beating some failed actor/uber driver is one thing, but I'm quite confident you would not find much success in the real world of hoops. And that's OK.
