Oh my the Lakers. Can we rest Dame if they beat Utah. Does that secured our 4th seed?
No. We'd need one more win or one more Utah loss.

Win against the Lakers on Tuesday, and we'll see if Houston beats OKC or not. If Houston wins, we go into our last game locked into the 4th seed and can rest. If Houston loses, we go into Wednesday in a situation where, if we win, we get the 3-seed.

Yeah, I disagree with all of this.

Aminu can play valuable role on a championship level team. Can't say the same for Prince.

And Hood is a replacement level player in my eyes. I like his scoring versatility, but isn't the most efficient player, not very comfortable off the ball and doesn't offer much defensively.
I kind of disagree on Hood, I think his defense has been pretty good, not Lock Down Tony Allen stuff, but he does good at funneling his man to the right spots, he doesnt get caught watching a ton, he works to get over / under screens quickly. I think he’s a decent NBa defender.
This is Prince’s 3rd year in the NBA I think(?). He’s got time to figure things out, it took Aminu a while too.

Chief >>>>> Hood.

It’s not even close.

I agree, I think Hood and Kanter have been better on defense for Portland than they were for the team they were with before.

We don’t need younger players. We need players that can win within the next 4 years while Dame is in his prime...

Hood does his work early. So it's easy for people to miss his defensive contribution.
He's been far better on that end than I've expected.
IMO he's a legit 3&D player.

Only 2 days left in the season! Go Lakers! If Lakers beat Jazz, our magic number for HCA in 1!

Utah is playing without Favors, Rubio, Crowder, Korver, and Neto. Supposedly day to day "injuries". They might have counted on a win or those guys have legitimate aches. That's a lot of missing firepower for the Jazz

I wish some Blazer players could get some rest....Dame sure needs it

check that...Crowder is playing

Way more than a 3&D player. He has way more skills.

Sorry for some reason when you said “aminu’s help defense has been awful all year” and “we should let aminu walk” and “signing aminu over Hood would be SILLY” I came away with the impression that you don’t appreciate Aminu.

Apparently your comments were meant to be more qualified. I still don’t think you appreciate aminu as much as you should.
I didn't even say "help defense" bruh get it right SMH.

I said he's falling asleep off the ball a little more this season (i.e. his man backcuts to the rim and Aminu doesn't see it).

Example:

I never said Aminu over Hood is silly. I said Aminu over Hood AND Prince is silly.

I appreciate the hell out of Aminu. You need to do a better job reading.

Crowder played, scored 11 points. Lakers missing better players

Hood is an average defender on a good night and he’s not even shooting the three that well. Aminu is far better for our system.

None of these qualifications/corrections change the broad picture - you’re just being pedantic. You wanna let go of aminu for a young player and a bench player. That’s the bottom line. Nights like this should be all you need to see to know you’re wrong. Aminu is a beast on defense, in the clutch, and on boards. He also has great chemistry with Dame. Letting him go would be a disaster - he’s been one of the most consistent players since we lost Aldridge.

Every time the blazers get a new player the blazers fans act like they are the greatest thing that ever happened. We always take for granted players who have quietly been doing business for a long time like Chief. Hood has been inconsistent and his defense has been average at best. Aminu is much, much more crucial to keep.

Ok, cool.

I agree with this.

But both really struggle to have much use or value vs good teams. Hood doesn't make a lot of mistakes, but doesn't stand out IQ wise and doesn't have the size, athleticism or physicality to be a factor vs both big wings or quick guards. He's a guy you're hiding most likely.

And I do think Kanter has done a better better job moving his feet to square / use his chest to contest around the rim. But he still makes plenty of mistakes and struggles changing directions and as an athlete in a back pedal (can't move or jump) which puts a premium on his positioning which can't be trusted. Can't switch with him either.

Ok, cool.

Glad you finally admitted that you want to get rid of Chief for a bench player and a young player. Why was that so hard? You should stick by your opinions instead of changing them after Chief has a good game.

Game threads suck....I stay away from them till after the game or maybe just the first few minutes I'll cheer a bit...talk about the game more and members less and it's way more fun...I think of a game thread as sitting in the Moda next to someone...I come to cheer...if someone is bitching, I'll move seats
Exactly. I post in them at the beginning and maybe at half. Then i check it out and laugh as i read the DOOM and GLOOM when they fall behind 6 points with 3 minutes left.

I've been one of the biggest pro-aminu posters on this board for a couple years now.
You will not find a bigger aminu fan than myself on this board(maybe kingspeed?)
In fact if you go back to the last game thread(you know the one you started a ton of drama in)
I was calling for Aminu to get MORE MINUTES. And saying Stotts misused him.
For a couple weeks now I've been posting how well Aminu is playing defensively. How it's been a turnaround from how he started this year.
In fact as soon as I mentioned to @BonesJones how much I've been disappointed in Aminu defensively this year. Aminu started playing really well on that end.
I even said that night and gave credit to Aminu for his defensive turnaround in that game.

But at the end of the day I said nothing about Aminu. I was only talking about Hood.
You decided to quote me and tell me Aminu > Hood.
You need to learn how to separate emotions from your posts on here.

Unless you're just trolling, then you do you.
Which is generally what I think you're doing as you don't realize the nba season started in 2018 and will finish in 2019.

I almost stuck up for this guy earlier today, but now see he is just trying to be annoying.

Well I'll take the end result, because I was on the verge of spinning off into an extreme level of pissed off when we fell behind by 7 late.

“You need to learn how to separate emotions from your posts on here.”

That’s weird cuz you just got mad at my incredibly benign “cheif> hood” comment

Making assumptions/Putting your own emotions on other posters will not serve you well in an online setting.
Nor will it serve you well in real life either.
