TERRY STOTTS--- MIKE BROWN

• The Trail Blazers and the Cavaliers split the season series 1-1 last season, the first time the two teams have done so since the 2006-07 season.

• In the double-overtime win on Dec. 1 2012, three Trail Blazers scored over 20 points. Damian Lillard led the team with 24 points (9-of-17 FG, 4-of-7 3-PT), 11 assists and six rebounds, LaMarcus Aldridge had 21 points and nine rebounds and Nicolas Batum finished with 22 points and seven rebounds along with hitting the game-winning 3-pointer with 0.2 seconds left. Wesley Matthews set a career high with 10 assists.

• Portland has won four out of the last five games against the Cavaliers. Prior to the loss on Jan 16, 2013, Portland had won four straight against Cleveland, its longest winning streak against the Cavaliers since winning five straight meetings between the 2001-02 season and 2003-04 season.

• Mo Williams spent two and a half seasons with the Cavaliers before getting traded to the Clippers on Feb. 24, 2011.

• Trail Blazers assistant coach Nate Tibbetts spent the past two seasons with Cleveland as an assistant coach (2011-13)

GO BLAZERS!!!

Waiters went so off on us last year. Jack always has a chip against us.

Let's Go!

Nah, left hand Tristan Thompson and the Waitress.

If you're record watching, the Blazers need 6 more consecutive wins to tie the best starting record in franchise history, and 7 (@OKC on the 2nd of a back to back) to surpass it. GO BLAZERS!

The numbers that matter

Cleveland is
2-1 vs the Northwest division
2-0 on two days rest
1-0 on Tuesday
4-2 in December vs 4-12 in November
Cleveland erupts on 2 days rest, and has the second lowest opponents ppg on two days rest/ They also erupt on Tuesday in ppg, and hold their opponents to the fewest ppg on Tuesday

Portland is
5-0 vs the Central division
12-1 on 1 days rest
0-1 on Tuesday
8-1 in December vs 13-2 in November
Portland scores it's highest points on 1 days rest while giving up the least. However, on Tuesday, Portland has been outscored by 15 points

And we get to look forward to another game of Mice Rice's infatuation with saying Alonzo Gee's name. Hehe

Don't take this one for granted. Cleveland is a MUCH different team at home than on the road. In fact, they are a very good home team. They have won 4 in a row at home, including a recent win over the Clippers and are 7-3 overall at home. They score more, defend MUCH better and rebound better at home.

At Home:

Record: 7-3

Points/G: 96.5
Opp Points/G: 94.7
Net Points/G: +1.8

Reb/G: 47.2
Opp Reb/G: 41.1
Net Reb/G: +6.1

eff: 109.4
Opp eff: 107.8
Net eff: +1.6

That looks like a pretty good team and explains why they are 7-3 at home. Now. compare that to how they do on the road.

On the Road:

Record: 2-11

Points/G: 92.8
Opp Points/G: 104.1
Net Points/G: -11.3

Reb/G: 40.7
Opp Reb/G: 44.6
Net Reb/G: -3.9

eff: 92.8
Opp eff: 124.8
Net eff: -32.0

So, don't let their overall record deceive you, they are a good home team and absolutely abysmal on the road. This is very typical of a young team with some talent.

In addition to rebounding very well at home, they also defend the 3-pointer exceptionally well at home:

Opp 3FG: 7.4-24.1
Opp 3FG%: .307

This has trap game written all over it. I hope the players don't overlook the Cavs. At home, they certainly seem to have the ability to neutralize two of the Blazers biggest strengths (rebounding and 3-point shooting). Keep an eye on those two stats tonight. I hope we can escape with a win and move on to Minnesota tomorrow.

BNM

BNM, this is really a trap game, but I have confidence with this team. I think our team actually believes we can win each and every game. I think most of that has to do with how focused they are to each and every game. I think we blow them out, homerly speaking! ;)

How many trap games have we had on this trip :)

seems like every game so far is a trap game

A lot said the Pistons game was a trap game... and damn, they were right. But that Pistons team is freaking good. A really tough match up for most.

This game, not so much.

Another piece of shit city:

This should be another game that goes right down to the wire. The thing I like about this team, is their ability to play tough in crunch time. We have multiple players who are not afraid to take a big shot. And since most games are close at the end, I have more confidence than normal. The next two games will be tough.

There are no trap games. Every game teams will give Portland their best shot. The secret is out around the NBA teams, even if everyone in the media hasn't got that memo 21-4.

Who in the media has said we aren't a good team?

By the way, I may be wrong about this, but I do believe it's the Fan Night game on NBA TV.

Target is on the Blazers every game now for sure. Time to man up to the challenge and do what it takes to win again! We own the road! I'm hoping for a blow out, we should be due for another one! Irving will get his shots but getting their bigs in early foul trouble would help. Go Blazers!!

Tonight will be a battle of the Fro! Varejao and Lopez on the same court!

And percentage wise I believe they have the 3rd best record in the east against Western Conference teams (3-3).

I think the Thunder vs Nuggets game is what they're showing tonight for Fan Night on NBATV

Interesting... I keep seeing it when I watch NBA TV. Keeps saying Blazers/Cavs, Hmm.

GO TRAIL BLAZERS!

GO DELLY!
