You have zero credibility when you bring this up when we were down 30

Portland is 16th in FTA per game and 4th in 3pt attempts per game. Seems like they get calls to me.

Also, both the Lakers and Knicks are below us in FTA....Cause they are small market?

I digress. You can have it Mediocre :)

Aldridge is an dumbass... this guy needs to be another team.. he is absoluetly playing horror at the end.. but this is all season long the same shit.. We need him but the left the team alone in every fuckin close game..

Please leave!

These next two games will determine our course for the rest of the season. Win both and we're third seed and still in race for a possible top 2 seed. Lose both and we're in a battle for 5th/6th/7th. Split and we're just in the middle hoping for HCA against Clippers.

Clippers lead the Pacific and are guaranteed a top 4. So its going to be either Houston or Portland in the 3/4(whoever has a better record, Clippers or Por/houston) and 5 being the lower of the Houston/Portland finisher.
They will never get HCA against the clippers unless the warriors overtake them and Portland ends up 3, Warriors are 4, Houston is 5, and Clippers are 6... and Im really not seeing that happen ever. Period.

EDIT**************
I loaded this page HOURS AGO, and saw 33 pages after I came back to it HOURS LATER.
Sorry.... but this might have been said already. lol.

Hey HCP, what was it like wathcing this game in the truck? Had to be all over the place.

Seen so many blowouts and comebacks and I'm SO busy when the game gets crazy, I'm pretty much numb to it! Worked the last 1000 games or so......

I'd rather iron out our problems during the season than in the playoffs, this team has shown me too much this year to write them off.

For some, they write them off after a 4-0 run within a game. It's really entertaining.

I still think we'll move past the first round but ill be honest, I spent the money I was saving for the finals on a bed so I can cry myself to sleep during round 2.

I just want to get in to post season at this point. After 31-9 start, missing out would be disastrous. Especially considering we have no draft picks, and top heavy roster/no trade bait. Only hope to get better is FA. It's already a tough sell getting FA to come to PDX, but who's going to consider coming here if we nose dive and miss the playoffs? If we get in and lose in 1st to a contender, that's not disastrous. Just get in.

Here we go with the "this tiny sample size of games determines the remainder of the season" posts. Sorry, Kingspeed -- I know you're a huge fan who bleeds red and black, and I give you full props for that. But please know that this "season's over" mentality is simply wrong (statistically, logically, and historically), and I think it's causing you undue stress.

This. But he doesn't understand it, unfortunately.

Never said in this thread, or ever on the board. New posters always start out the smartest ones, then devolve into what I have become.

I missed the game.

I'm looking for a good time. It's raining and dark outside.

I got it...I'm gonna read this whole thread.

By the way, if we lose this game, we will fall out of HCA for the first time since the 3rd week of the season.

Games against the people you are jostling for seeds with are important. If we had won last 2 games vs OKC, we'd be in battle for one seed. Sunday's game matters. It's the one game where we have control over Houston losing.

The Mavs are an inferior team at this point - we need to make them look like it tonight.

I'm worried we'll take them lightly. The last time we put a beatdown on a team, we took them way too lightly.

Looks like this will be easy. King sounds too worried.

I have found the best way to get over a loss is to start drinking after the game not before. A glass of whisky later and i'm thinking of what to cook instead of how bad LA's pass was with 17s left.

That wasn't on Aldridge. Lillard stopped moving to the basket.

Well I'm still at Post #160. I just walked to the liquor store. It closed at 8 pm Saturday night! So I'm standing in the dark parking lot reading the hours sign on the door, hood up in the rain, when a police car stops. He eyes me for 5 seconds, breaks out laughing, and zooms off.

Fucker!! I could up to no good, really!

I'm reading again.

No, that wasn't when we were down 30, because you posted this later.

I'm up to Post 160.

I'm pretty sure most of those were end of 1st and 2nd quarter comments, when we kept losing more ground. And I know for a fact I said once that we were still going to win even down 30... I think KS even made a comment towards it about how many teams have come back from 30 down.

Meh, we still lost. Was a fun game though. Tomorrows, yeah, I have a feeling we're gonna get run out of the building. Hope I'm wrong, and I got it on DVR to hopefully we-watch a win... but I do not have a good feeling about that game.

The last time you said this about an upcoming game, the Blazers beat OKC at OKC. Do you and KingSpeed share an account?

haha. Hey, if I'm proven wrong, then I own up to it. I had this pegged as a loss already, anyway.

Besides, you know I'm not KS, I said we'd still win after being down 30... he said season over after one of the times we were down 1. We still lost, but you can't say I swing that swiftly. lol.

Strenuus is wrong; those posts were before we hit 30. But I gotta defend him when Papa paints him as a pessimist. He was the holdout for optimism in the first 160 posts that I've read, criticizing pessimists. Papa is the kind of optimist who has to find someone to tear down, so he picks his ally.

haha.

Nah, I know when we were down 30 I said it. I'd have to timestamp it to the game, but I know I said it. lol. Doesn't matter though. Still sucked.

I'm not sure what we're arguing about, but I intend to win. If you're saying your posts I quoted were after you posted that we we were down 30, you're wrong.

If you're saying anything else, you're wrong, too.

Ahh. I showed that guy.

All of you learn a lesson from this. Last time ol' jlprk lost an argument was 1959, and that's under dispute.
