If we lose tonight, we're 31-10 at the halfway point. You gotta love that.
 
We've been missing wide open threes.... so how can it only be poor defense that is leading to 80% three point shooting for most of the first half?
 
I just want to say thanks to the team for proving Mr. Barkley right this eve. They couldn't have possibly played the way they played Dallas.
 
There were a lot of 3s by Houston (many uncontested), but it was the other points that got to me . . . how many uncontested shots in the paint did the Blazers give up that half?

Our team is historically terrible (at least recently the last few seasons) defending the opposition in the paint.

When the other team is shooting 80% from deep, you start getting paranoid about the three and they easily get into the paint. We've done this to a few teams this year.
 
Lotta game to play yet..if you haven't seen the Blazers down at halftime, you haven't watched the Blazers much over the years..game plan..let the other team run full out for 2 qtrs...then start playing defense in the 3rd and score 41 pts

Yep. We gave up a lot of uncontested shots, period. Too many players standing and watching.
 
We are waiting for TNT to get back because they need more time to talk about nothing basketball related...

There is not much to love about a loss, IMO.

I'll be happy with the Blazers record tomorrow . . . hard for me to celebrate a record tonight if the team loses.
 
Gotta start aggressive in the 2nd half, or it's over. It will set the tempo for the 2nd half. 5-6 quick points by Houston, and it's over

Rockets were scoring uncontested layups before the 3s. No way to try and defend that defense in that first half, everything so easy for the Rockets.

Good news is got a whole 2nd half to play
 
Wow Houston's SF's destroying us. Parsons with 19, Casspi with 11 combined that is 30 points 6 reb 6 ast 2 TO on 12 of 16 shooting. Come on Nico, LA or whoever is guarding them.
 
Holy crap. 10-13 from 3? Y'all weren't kiddin'. Seems like it actually hurts Portland to have Montiejunas playing instead of Jones because he stretches the floor.
 
that 3 point play by Houston there hurt.
 
I hate Harden so much. I'm having a hard time trying to come up with someone I hate as much as Harden. Westbrook maybe?
