GAME THREAD: BLAZERS @ ROCKETS - MARCH 9TH, 2014 - SUNDAY, 4:00 PM (PST), KGW

The 2 most common causes of tanking: management trying to get more lotto balls or the players quitting on the coach.

Batum and Lillard combined for 14 turnovers. That didn't help. Beverley really gets under Lillard's skin. But at least he didn't injure him, like he did Westbrook.

Nic hasn't been much help for a while. I wonder if his wrist is still bothering him. This is like down the stretch last year.

Character reveals itself when times are tough. I'm sticking with this team. I'll let others quit on it. Frankly, we're better off without you. Go ahead and hop off the bandwagon: You quitters will make great L*ker fans.

That argument applies to players as well as fans.

I don't know if there's a player on this Houston team that I _don't_ hate. Lin maybe (who was their best player tonight).

Batum's 7 TO don't even tell the whole story

He was dreadful tonight making decisions.

The one pass on the fastbreak where he tried to hit a guy in the corner, and it ended up being a perfect bounce pass to Harden, was embarrassing.

And I admitted I was wrong about us being mediocre. You now seem to embrace my incorrect feelings at the beginning of the season.

You were RIGHT. 18-16 in last 34 games. Choke job after choke job. Sliding down standings. It's not my fault. It's not your fault. But you were right.

Aldridge is an idiot.. he is not a player mvp like.. he cant beat durant-lebron or anybody in the mvp rankings.. when the crunch time comes.. he is a tree that never has a chance to score.. thats a fact why we lose every fuckin game in the last weeks.. he wines in the offseason , to he looks for another team.. then the managament give him good players mit lopez and mo , but at moment he plays like a shit like a amazing shit.. i cant see this shit every game..

yeah, because the score was 2-0 at the time...

No. At the end of regulation. We were up 2 and Wes only made one of two. Harden hits the three and it goes to OT. Wes' miss cost us the game.

...then I tried to read the rest of the gibberish. :dunno:

Damian may get there one day. But Portland misses Brandon Roy. And in the last couple of games, what they really needed is someone to lean on and carry them. LA has taken a couple steps back from the start of the season. And I just don't think you can count on him for this role.

Still enough games left to tank to get a draft pick. Charlotte will be pissed.

Need to make a serious move for a Dwayne Wade, Kobe Bryant type in offseason if opportunity presents itself. But even then, these two guys are getting old.

Only 5 games ahead of Memphis in the loss column and they play us next so they can close the gap. Playoffs aren't a sure bet. The 3 seed is now officially out of reach given the schedule and losing tiebreaker to Houston.

The Aldridge MVP talk is clearly an afterthought at this point

If his jumper isn't falling these days his entire offensive game crumbles. He's not playing the complete game like he was in the beginning of the season.

And his efficiency is terrible as well. 28pts on 27 shots tonight. This is Carmelo Anthony type stuff.

We're not making the playoffs, KS. quit talking unicorns and rainbows like the could happen.

What's really noticeable the last 25-30 games is a real lack of confidence in close situations at the end of games, especially when we have a lead. Its something thats only going to go away when we get a few close wins again.

And I hate to say it, it's not a knock. IMO, he just isn't strong enough. Mentally, physically. The game has picked up way from where it was at two months ago. And his finesse game is fizzling

my point was that if LaMarcus hadn't missed 3 of them, it wouldn't have mattered.

The Blazers kept fighting; their shots just weren't falling.

sounds like ive heard this before recently, like in just about every game.

I don't think you know what "officially" means.
