Seems like a really, really long wait.

As for the opponent, well, it ain't going to be anything like the playoffs:
“The people we’re missing are huge pieces,” coach Rick Adelman said. “It’s one thing when you have Yao on the floor and Tracy, and you have a role that you do. Now, suddenly, we’re going to see who’s going to step up, see who’s going to make the leap, and we need that. We have to have that. It’s going to be interesting to watch the team progress.”
...
Houston made some major moves to shore up its roster after Ron Artest(notes) left to join the Lakers. The Rockets signed Trevor Ariza(notes) away from the Lakers and he is expected to pick up the slack for McGrady.
“I can’t even explain how excited I am to have an opportunity to expand my game,” Ariza said. “That’s what every player really wants.”
To partially replace Yao’s production in the paint, Houston will count on a pair of foreign big men in Luis Scola(notes) and David Andersen(notes). Scola averaged 12.7 points and 8.8 boards last season for the Rockets while the slender, 6-11 Andersen was signed in August after a career spent mostly in Europe, including three Euroleague championships between 2001-08.
The Rockets are also counting on getting more from Aaron Brooks(notes), who emerged to average 21.8 points in the games against the Lakers without Yao.
“Aaron has an opportunity,” Adelman said. “In the playoffs, he had big games and you want to see where his growth continues. It can’t be one game here, one game there. It’s got to be consistent, over the course of the season, every game.”
Huh. The "Aaron Brooks and Trevor Ariza Show!"

Not exactly terrifying....

I admit.. this off-season was a LOT shorter than last years... last years took FOREVER! But that could also be cause they played for 2 more weeks :P

I expect to see Oden pushing Andersen around all game.

Andersen is weaker than a limp lettuce leaf.

Has Outlaw jacked up any ridiculous shots yet? :dunno:

I wonder if people will remember Ariza after all that's going on with our team. I keep forgetting about that side story to this game.

Houston has 5 starters who could come off the bench for most teams in the league.

:biglaugh:

Houston's roster by height

David Anderson 6'11"
Brian Cook 6'9"
Carl Landry 6'9"
Luis Scola 6'9"
Pops Mensah-Bonsu 6'9"
Tracy McGrady 6'8"
Trevor Ariza 6'8"
Shane Battier 6'8"
Joey Dorsey 6'8"
Chase Budinger 6'7"

Notice something missing?

the answer: two people over 6'9" aka Joel will dominate!

If Joel's gonna dominate, then Oden is going to crush his enemies, see them driven before him and hear the lamentations of their women!

No matter how many times I look at that list, I only see one person over 6'9". Who am I missing? :dunno:

Gramps... :devilwink:

I stopped listing people at 6'7" Chuck Hayes is only 6'6".

hahaha I thought you were joking. My point is the thing missing IS a second person over 6'9".:devilwink:

Doh! It must be past my bedtime. I missed the "What is missing" part.

Sometimes I'm just a bit clueless.

Gramps...

I can't believe we are down 20 at halftime!

Kind of having a hard time focusing on work right now.

Portland should absolutely destroy this Rockets team. I mean the absolute worst ass-kicking they hand to any team all year. The Rockets are in complete disarray, and every guy who figures to get minutes tonight, aside from Miller and Webster, should have had this game circled on their calendar since the schedule was announced.

I don't just want to beat them, I want to physically punish them. You know they're going to flop all over the place. I say let's give them a reason to do so.

LOL Kings TV! hcp you, you sly guy you.
