NEW YORK (Ticker) -- The New York Knicks took their firstdouble-digit lead of the season, then accomplished somethingthat had been missing for over two weeks.

Zach Randolph scored 11 of his 20 points in the fourth quarteras the Knicks snapped an eight-game losing streak with an 85-78victory over the Chicago Bulls on Saturday.

Eddy Curry led the Knicks with 21 points and Stephon Marbury chippedin with 19 for the Knicks, who avoided their first 2-10 start since2002-03 and fourth in franchise history. Quentin Richardsonalso grabbed 15 rebounds as the Knicks won despite shooting 39percent (28-of-72) and missing 16 of 42 free throws.

It was New York's first victory since scoring 37 fourth-quarterpoints in a 119-112 victory over the Denver Nuggets. In betweenvictories, the Knicks dropped home games to Orlando and Miami, prompting coach Isiah Thomas to send Marbury to the bench.

That led to the point guard leaving the team in Phoenix beforehe returned as a reserve for the final three games of thewinless Western swing last week.

Marbury returned to the starting lineup Tuesday but that wasunable to stop the losing and the ugliness as the Knicks lost by26 at home to Golden State and then by 12 in Detroit thefollowing night.

Thomas still heard some boos from the afternoon crowd that wasmade up of many families and Marbury was booed duringintroductions and on many early possessions in which he touchedthe ball.

Roughly an hour later, the Knicks were getting cheers foroutscoring the Bulls, 25-12, in the second. That gave them a43-31 lead, their biggest of the season.Marbury scored 13 points in the half while Curry added 10.Marbury had seven points as the Knicks closed out the half witha 19-7 run.

New York grabbed its first double-digit lead of the seasonduring that run when Randolph hit a 15-footer with 2:35remaining. The Knicks held the double-digit lead until BenGordon hit a pair at the line with 7:40 remaining in the third.

After shooting just under 30 percent in their second-lowestscoring first half, the Bulls climbed to 55-49. New Yorkresponded with a 10-5 spurt that gave them a 65-54 lead afterthree.

They Bulls opened the fourth with an 21-10 run and tied the gameat 75-75 on a jumper by Kirk Hinrich with just over fourminutes remaining. The Knicks never lost the lead and opened a78-75 edge on a Marbury jumper with 2:44 remaining and clinchedthe win on a Randolph layup with 61 seconds left.

The Bulls fell to 1-4 on a six-game road trip their annuallate-November road trip that forces them out of the UnitedCenter for two weeks due to the presence of the circus.

They also dropped to 2-9 overall and lost for just the thirdtime in the last 12 meetings with the Knicks.

Andres Nocioni led Chicago with 23 and Ben Gordon added 13.

Eddy Curry led New York with 21 points and Stephon Marburychipped in with 19 for the Knicks, who avoided their first 2-10start since 2002-03 and fourth in franchise history. QuentinRichardson also grabbed 15 rebounds as the Knicks won despiteshooting 39 percent (28-of-72) and missing 16 of 42 free throws.

"It feels a lot better being on this side, but we got a long wayto go still, but I thought we came out this afternoon andplayed with a lot of effort and we just stayed together," Currysaid. "We had some moments where we could have folded and havefolded in the past - but today we just kept pushing and we wereable to get a win."

Slightly bothered by a hamstring injury, Randolph finished thegame 7-of-16 and made 3-of-4 shots in the fourth. One was adriving hook shot from five feet that put New York in front80-75 with 61 seconds left and another was a 21-footer with 29.6seconds remaining that gave New York an 82-75 lead.

Randolph's biggest plays of the season came after he missed afree throw and was called for traveling, allowing the Bulls tofurther chip away. It also came on a day in which he did notrecord a double-double and also made six turnovers.

"We pulled it out," Randolph said. "We got the 'W'. That's allthat matters."

It was New York's first victory since scoring 37 fourth-quarterpoints in a 119-112 victory over the Denver Nuggets. In betweenvictories, the Knicks dropped home games to Orlando and Miami, prompting coach Isiah Thomas to send Marbury to the bench.

Thomas still heard some boos from the afternoon crowd that wasmade up of many families and Marbury was booed duringintroductions and on many early possessions in which he touchedthe ball.

"In New York, you are either dead or alive," Thomas said. "Youlose a game and you are dead. You win one, you basically get tosurvive. This is the place we play in and this is apressure-packed place.

"We know we have to come back and win Monday (against the UtahJazz). If we don't win Monday, then it's the same thing allover again."

The jeers turned to cheers after the Knicks outscored the Bulls,25-12, in the second. That gave them a 43-31 lead, theirbiggest of the season.

Marbury scored 13 points in the half and had seven points as theKnicks closed out the second quarter with a 19-7 run.

New York grabbed its first double-digit lead of the seasonduring that run when Randolph hit a 15-footer with 2:35remaining. The Knicks held the double-digit lead until BenGordon hit a pair at the line with 7:40 remaining in the third.

"We have to try to get our confidence and try to play hard everynight," Chicago forward Andres Nocioni said. "I believe wehave a long time and it is early in the season but we need towin."

Nocioni led Chicago with 23 and Ben Gordon added 13.

Re: NBA: CHICAGO (2-8) at NEW YORK (2-9)

Wow, disasterous. I didn't have much sleep last night and sort of passed in and out of the game... the only real memory was of hearing the announcers say Gordon and Hinrich were 5 of 20something and thinking "damn".

Well, I don't know what else to say about it. We lost to the Knicks, the only team in the league in more obvious disarray than us.

Re: NBA: CHICAGO (2-8) at NEW YORK (2-9)

That game was ugly. Gordon played better than his stats showed. On a normal team, Gordon would have had 8-10 assist tonight, but the Bulls seemed to have made a team rule in which they refuse to make a shot off of a Gordon pass.

In addition, he didn't touch the ball until about a minute left in the game (that was like 5 minutes he was in without getting a touch), and on his first two touches, he set up Thabo wide open, for some bricks. Then they went into panic mode, dump the ball to Gordon in a bad position, and Jamal stripped him. I think Gordon needs to bring the ball up during crunchtime, Hinrich dominated the ball too much during that time, and the team suffered for it.

Re: NBA: CHICAGO (2-8) at NEW YORK (2-9)

Knicks finally break the streak.

Hopefully it doesn't restart against the Jazz.
