That was a great clip there but if you look closely, I gotta say Hakeem traveled

Whatever street cred you had accidentally acquired here, has now been lost.

I'm a guy who spurns street cred for rural savvy. You actually don't think Kaman has post moves? That's just baffling

Just messing with you man......... I like his spin/up/and under move! Schooled NOLA with it a few times down the stretch.

I forget if it was NO or Denver but Kaman had one post move that was basically 4 spins to the open layup...as pretty as anything I've seen

He does, it's because of him that his team's jump up to big leagues

I disagree. Yes, Davis has improved and is putting up huge numbers, but I think the main reason the Pelicans are now a potential playoff team is health. The second biggest reason is the addition of a quality center to play next to Davis. The problem is, if you look at their top 6 players, they missed a combined 175 games last season. Evans was the only one that played at least 70 games. Gordon has had injury issues ever since his rookie year. He played 64 games last year, but only 42 the year before that and only 9 the year before that. Anderson missed 60 games last year, Holiday missed 48 and Asik missed 34. If NOP had been healthy last year, even without Asik, they would have likely been in the running for the 8th seed. So far this season, their top six players have missed a total of 2 games. That's the main reason or their improved winning percentage.

they just can't finish and that's the trait of youth. Which is literally everyone on that roster. If Ryan anderson and John salmons are your team vets.. That's hard.

Disagree again, outside of Davis, their top six players are:

Omar Asik, age 28, in his 5th season
Jrue Holiday, age 24, in his 6th season
Eric Gordon, soon to be 27, in his 7th season
Tyreke Evans, age 25, in his 6th season
Ryan Anderson, age 26, in his 7th season

These are are all guys in their mid to late 20s with several years of NBA experience. They aren't first or second year players in their early 20s. They should all be in their primes. The problem isn't youth, it's a lack of a winning pedigree. Gordon, Evans and Holiday all came to NOP from losing teams.

Davis does, however, suffer from youth when it comes to closing out games. The guy has a tremendous amount of talent, but he hasn't yet figured out how to use that talent to help his team win games in the 4th quarter. You saw the perfect example of that here in Portland. Davis owned the first three quarters, but with the game on the line, the veteran Aldridge calmly stepped up and out played Davis in the 4th quarter to lead his team from 15 point deficit to a 9 point win.

But, as others have mentioned, Davis is still only 21. He will figure out how to use his tremendous talent to help his team win games. He's not there yet, but it will come with experience.

I tell ya what........I'm surprised more people don't work out with The Dream..... BEST POST GAME IN THE HISTORY OF THE NBA!

Nope, gotta be McHale. The dude was a slow, lumbering Herman Munster clone, but god damn with that footwork and all those ball fakes and head fakes he could get a shot off against anyone. Hakeem was a better player, but when it comes to low post moves, Kevin McHale was the master. Lucky for us, he sucks as a head coach.

I'm not sure Davis has the weight to be an effective post player. Do you think he can back a defender down with that skinny frame? Aldridge has put on a ton of muscle since he came into the league.

Also, Davis was a point guard before his growth spurt so he still plays like a guard or a wing. His game is all face up.

C'Mon HCP, Kevin McHale is on Line 1 !

Why is it that EVERY DAMN TIME a personage wants to proliferate a quality discussion about BAS.KET.BALL some fool keeps expounderating that the unathletic men of the Caucasian persuasion have some kind of chokehold on the superlatives? Don't get me wrong, Kevin McHale was good, but he in NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM compares to the GREATNESS of the Dream! It's inconceivable that people who watch basketball for years can be SO WRONG about something as simple as if a black man can do anything in basketball better than a white man!

CHEESY POOFS!

Say what?! Black men have nothing to do with this... Take your anti-racism somewhere else.

I think Jordan is the greatest basketball player to play the game, but the last time I checked that mother fucker is black.

McHale was a slow bastard with about as much athleticism as a slug. But because of his footwork, post moves and head fakes, that dude became or of the 50 best.

Hakeem would still be the 50th best without those post moves because he's a fucking athletic beast. The post moves just made him become legend.

But hands down, McHale had better footwork and post moves. Sorry

Settle down there Screamin' A. No one said McHale was a better player than Hakeem. Hakeem was a much better defender, a better rebounder and a better passer. However, in one specific aspect, low post moves, no one, not even he great Hakeem, was better than Kevin McHale and that has nothing to do with race.
