Man I got home and turned the game on when we were down 10 in the 4th. Then the deficit went to 15 briefly before they went on that amazing run.

Yeah you came in just in time. Everything before that was hard to watch

It was similar to the 1st game of the season, where OKC had us down the whole game, then we won the 4th 12-31. We won the 4th this game by 21 points.

This 4th quarter was our 2nd most dominant quarter of the season...only one that beat it is the 2nd quater of Denver, which we won 45-22

If I was New Orleans I would have been going inside to Davis every time down the stretch. He hardly got any touches in the final 5 minutes. Great win for the Blazers tonight though.

Well it's a chicken or egg type scenario. Most likely it happened simply because I started watching, I doubt the players had anything to do with it.

4 of our 8 wins this season have been 2nd half comebacks.

Well although I don't think Monty is a particularly good coach, I just don't think they could get Davis the ball where it counted. That was some stifling D in the 4th.

Davis doesn't have a back to the basket game

Well, he did learn under McMillan, who would not only stop going to the hot player, he'd take him out. So it only makes sense that they didn't continue going to Davis.

I will say this again. LaMarcus Aldridge is the best 4th quarter rebounder in the game

Against the Blazers I will root for him to stumble bumble and lose. Against just abou everyone else, I'll be in his corner.

He is the next face of the NBA for sure. Him, Lillard, Wall, George, Kawhi and the "Splash Bros" are all good starting points for the next 10 years.

14-20 FG

Davis obliterated our frontcourt.

And he's doing this at age 21!

'Tis not fair.

Man, the Pelicans are going to give Portland tons of trouble this year and in the future. AD is the toughest matchup for Aldridge every time. They are a good team, just young and inexperienced still. I can't believe we pulled that out, that third quarter was rough.

We need Baum back.

This season we are winning games we have no business winning, but unlike last year, we're winning them by eight with defense instead of by one with heroic shots.

Batum definitely would've helped check Evans early and maybe they don't go on that run and we win comfortably.

Fwiw...

The Hornets tried like hell to trade into the top-5 to grab Lillard. Chad Ford covered this on that draft day - They thought Lillard would drop to them but as soon as they caught wind of Portland's plan they were on the phone. Their goal was to pair Davis with Lillard.

It was a really smart idea. I'm glad it didn't happen!

New Orleans needs a legit second star.

Evans isn't a star.

Holiday isn't a star.

Anderson isn't a star.

They need another guy to go with Davis. They need a Dame to their Aldridge. They don't have that. If I was New Orleans, I would see if I could package those players for a legit second guy.
