Golden State Warriors pick watch

Context. If it's 10 days, they'll play the Spurs twice, then Mavs, Lakers, Knicks. They could conceivably go 1-4 if they don't have Steph.
I'm not sure what you mean by context, but conceivably they could go 0-5 or 5-0 or anything in between right? It's just math...

Are you a Warriors fan now? I might have missed the memo.
same as ever, I root for the Blazers, against the Lakers and for good ball in general... as in I can't stand watching the Mavs iso games but the Nuggets v Celtics the other night was great.

Why would passing along injury reports on Curry and Wemby be somehow rooting for a team? I'm just watching games and sharing actual opinions instead of just hating at every turn as if thats the only way to root for your team.

You might have missed the Christmas fiasco with Nate around page 20.
just reread that silly temper tantrum of Mr Hottakes you referred to and my responses, how in the world do you pull that as proof of me being a W's fan? Good grief amid that back and forth I'm lamenting my lack of excitement for the 2024 draft class in general and state... "The W's are probably the team with the widest spread between their floor and ceiling this season. From the digging I've done on the prospects from the next draft, I'm unfortunately unimpressed with the potential of their pick whether it ends up on either end. Hopefully the W's fall flat and the individual prospects exponentially improve, but again at this point I'm a meh......"

As I stated early on in this thread when they were really scuffling, I think the Warriors are still a good team... thats not rooting, thats observing. While time passing has shown this to be true, I don't believe rooting one way or another has anything to do with what actually happens.

So why only mention the two Spurs games when it's said that Steph will be out for more than that? Seems like you're protecting your Warriors at every turn...

I was just curious. You seem to defend them a lot. Wasn’t sure if being in the Bay Area the warriors might have rubbed off on you.

oh no! Some random douchebag on the internet is lobbing more grade school insults my way... what ever will I do?

I keep local sports talk on for stretches at work so I'm exposed to a lot of Bay Area stuff... heck, I know lots about the 9ers despite not watching an NFL game in probably a decade plus. Since I watch the NBA via the pass, the W's are the one team I can't watch as their games are blocked out.

Unlike many fans, my sports hate is reserved for a select few like all things LA, UW and Duke. I don't hate or root for the GSW though I do admire Draymond as a player and think Kerr is a great coach. I will counter empty headed vitriol if I've facts to the contrary even if it means defending players and teams I don't like... I've even defended Kobe (who I loathed like few players ever) when posters were attacking him for a dumb reason.

Understandable. I personally can’t stand the Warriors, but it’s mainly because of how good they’ve been over past decade.

The teams I hate on the most in sports is the Yankees, Lakers, UW, Cowboys. Can’t stand those teams. My teams hardly win shit, so naturally I tend to be rooting for teams to lose and pulling for the underdogs after my hopes for my own team are shattered right as the season gets underway.

I'm with you on the Cowboys. That "America's Team" horse shit I grew up with really fried my grits.

That was a really weird reaction. Who insulted you? Are you okay?

Moses Moody 2-11, 0-6 from deep. Coach Popovic approves, he might trade for that guy and help Wemby tank.

Gafford blocked 7 Warriors tonight

Mavs beat Dubs

I just went back and read the "Christmas fiasco," starting at page 20. Pretty funny stuff. Borderline epic at times. Well done, fellas.

I would thank the participants with an @ but it feels like that might just trigger things again.

We'll all be rooting for the Lakers tomorrow.
Fuck that. In general its a bad idea to speak for the entire group here on most things and in this case you are completely out of touch. I will never root for the fucking Lakers and know I'm not alone on that. The allure of moving up a couple spots in what looks to be a terrible draft isn't a reason to be a fan of the purple and piss even for a moment. Like a lot of games, if I watch it will be without a rooting interest just hoping for good hoops/competition in what is a huge game for both teams. Edit - I'll be watching/rooting for Oregon in the Pac 12 tournament finals which is happening at the same time.

Curry is reportedly going to play but historically he has struggled with his shot in LA more then any other stadium. Draymond is supposed to be really struggling with back issues.

Word salad. Just being a contrarian as per usual. I didn't see you say you'd be rooting for the Warriors or that you even want them to win. Who do you want to win the Lakers/Warriors game today? If your answer isn't the Warriors then you're kind of in a tough place.

Since someone has to win, I hope the Warriors lose. Their pick has value for the Blazers, so I want whatever is best for the Blazers moving forward. The narrative of this being a weak draft doesn’t change the calculation for me a bit. I want value where I can get it for an eventual title. I am glad for each Blazers’ loss this year to go into the lottery no higher than#5. I also cheer each Blazers’s win and playing hard …

I can respect or like an individual Lakers or Warriors player or acknowledge if someone seems good at their job, but the Lakers and Warriors franchises can kick rocks into eternity. Their fan bases, too. [Add in the Spurs and Pop, even though I admired both Robinson and Duncan. I would love to see Pop retire ASAP but would despise Kerr getting hired by them.]
