They are trying to clear cap space to re-sign Miles Bridges this summer and then LaMelo next summer from what I’ve read, and are offering #13 or #15 for a team to take Hayward.

Who would we send back?

The title of this thread is "grant to portland for mil first done deal"

Not sure how this is an "OG thread"

Whoa!
That is what i get for being a little thread whore, bouncing back and forth forgetting where I am at!
I stand corrected. My apologies sir!

And you think we should take that on and play him off the bench?
If you think Nas can start next to Grant next season, then yes, and have Hayward come off the bench potentially averaging 13-18ppg.

I’m not convinced Hayward and Grant will be enough to cover for Dame and Ant, but I think Nas and Grant can. If you don’t believe Nas can start for us next year you’d think I’m crazy for suggesting it. But Hart, Hayward, #7, #13, and whoever we get for the MLE is a huge upgrade at the bench.

I mean this with all due respect, really... but everyone and their grandma has been saying that we were getting Grant for the past several months, so I stopped paying attention.

Glad to see it finally happened (since the price was reasonable).
No worries.

That’s the thing, you’d have to get creative with third teams and such. But Bledsoe and Winslow gets you to $23m. Then you can trade for guys using the Covington TPE and then trading that player to CHO with whatever else to match Hayward’s contract. Covington’s TPE is over $6m, and you could probably send out Keon as well.

CHO might like a guy in the $6m range from another team, we trade the TPE and other assets for that player and send them to CHO.

I don't see it happening.

I'd rather have OG than Hayward.

Never going to happen.

I just found out Jerami Grant was born in Portland. Maybe that's well known, but it's news to me and it's pretty dope. A fellow Portland native I dig it!

You can't aggregate salaries of players you trade for like that. There is a 60-day waiting period before their salaries can be combined.

I can see OG

Lillard/Simons/Keon
Simons/Hart
Grant /Nas/Ingles
OG/Winslow/Trendon Watford /GBJ
Nurkic /Eubanks

That's not terrible

You'll like it in Portland.....

But it’s still probably a 4th seed at best and we still don’t have a legit second star unless Ant or Grant decide to pop off.

Giving up the pick is a mistake, which would be even worse if OG misses time with any kind of injury.

You think we will be higher than a fourth seed if we draft someone instead of trading it?!
