The New Jersey Nets are coming off a blow out loss to the Spurs on there home floor. Vince Carter was very quiet with only 18 points and Marcus Williams had a horrible shooting night filling in for Jason Kidd. Tonight the Nets will play the atlantic divsion leaders, Toronto Raptors. The Nets are behind the Raps 3 and a half games for first place. The Nets playoff chances are running away from them. It's Valentine's day and Vince Carter will most likely not get the love from the Toronto crowd. This game should be a great game and a MUST win for the Nets if they want to stay close to the Raptors for the Atlantic division title.</div>

Perhaps Williams won't have any of the jitters of replacing Kidd for the first time as a starter.

Second time. His first was yesterday.

What meant was that today he won't have those jitters and maybe will play better

Vince with 15 points and 8 assists. We are not playing bad on the road and down by 5 in the beginning of the 4th quarter.

Nachbar 22 points of the bench. He should start over Wright.

Back to back threes for the Nets!

OMG! Jump shots after jump shots. Attack the freaking basket.

The boo's are getting to Vince's head. He really needs to keep his mind in the game and step up. Under 4 minutes and down by double digits.

Nets: 109 Raptors: 120 FINAL

Another embarrassing loss. I know it was on the road, but we still should have played better. Vince once again was the jump shooting Vince. Marcus Williams had another horrible shooting night. Collins was Collins. Overall we played bad and put up a horrible effort. In the final 4 minutes of the game we should have attacked the basket, instead all the Nets did was take jump shot after jump shot and the Rap kept attacking the basket and nailing three's in our faces. Now we are 4 and a half games behind them for the Atlantic division.

What's even worse than the Nets situation, is the fact that fans still hopes for a miracle turn around. When in fact, Thorn already has everything planned out. Ride out the remaining time in New Jersey and prepare for Brooklyn. It has been the plan for at least 2 seasons now. After back to back finals appearance, what does Thorn do? Unload K-Mart, and practically dismantle the team. Instead of picking up the necessary pieces that's missing for another title run, he picks the team apart. The acquisition of Vince Carter is nothing more than a move to keep the fans happy while he plots the real future of the team. Thorn is not stupid nor is he not aware of the situation. Playing dumb maybe, but certainly not stupid. On the business end of it all, Thorn will be hailed as a genius. But like I said before, he is cheating the people and the fans of New Jersey.
