<u>Keys to Game:</u>
<ul>
[*]Slow down Jamison. Wihtout him the rest of the team would have to take over which they are not capable of doing without their stars.

[*]Rebound the ball

[*]RJ step up with scoring.
[/list]

Bottom Line: Without Gilbert Arenas and Caron Butler the Nets must win this at home.

Prediction: Nets 103 Wizards 91</div>

Wiz are 39-36, Legacy...anyway, there's 4 games seperated in the standings between the Wizards and Nets and if the Wizards don't want the Nets to take their 6th seed, they need to win at least 1 of the two meetings they'll have against each other.

Eddie Jordan learned last night that Antonio Daniels and Deshawn Stevenson can't 42+ minutes every night with Arenas and Butler out. Look for him to rely on players off the bench like Roger Mason, Donell Taylor, and even Mike Hall to come in and give these guys a rest.

I think in the fouth quarter after giving 3 hard effort quarters.

My bad, I copied and pasted from my last game thread and forgot to change it.

Holy crap! VC has all of the Nets' 14 points so far.

Yeah, VC's on a tear right now, but I'm glad that no one else is scoring for the Nets right now.

Good start for the Wizards thus far. Everybody's sharing the ball, and making their shots while they're at it. The only player off though is our number one scoring option Jamison, so he's gotta pick it up in the second quarter. We've only committing 2 turnovers so far, which is great to see. If they can keep them under 40% shooting and keeping VC in check, we'll be fine.

Damnit, someone else needs to step up scoring wise.

Vince again with a 3! RJ dunk!

Vince with another three.

And another three. Vince is pulling a Kobe.

27 pts in one half!?

And we're only leading by 4? Wtf?

Half time. Nets 52 Wizards 51. Vince with 27 points. Kidd with 12 assists and 8 rebounds. RJ with 16 points. Everyone else must step up if we want to win, or Kidd could just kick it to Vince for threes.

And we're leading by one point. How stupid is that?

No one else is playing good except the big three. The bench needs to step up.

I think Arvis Hayes is finally earning the J in his name, lol. Imagine if he shot like that the entire season, than rather missing most of shots in every game...

Wiz up by 4.

Nets by 2. Kidd: 5 more points for a triple double. Carter: 36 points.

Damn we have 21 turnovers? Come on Nets, your better than that.

ANTAWN JAMISON TO TIE AT THE BUZZER!!!!!!

Hahahaha, payback for Carter's 3 when they were here.

Ok that's just stupid. Nets can't take advantage of a wounded team....

You look at the stat sheet, and you would figure it was a blowout. Two Net triple doubles, and an overtime was needed to beat a team without two of it's best players. Weird....but a win none the less.

Kidd 10 pts 16 rebs 18 asts
Carter 46 pts 16 rebs 10 asts
Jefferson 27 pts
Moore 17 pts
Robinson 10 pts
Boone 6 pts 5 rebs

carter had 3 blocks i thouhgt that was impressive for a sg

That was pretty bad game for the Wizards. They let the Nets as a team shoot 17-36 from 3 and allow Jason Kidd and Vince Carter to score triple doubles. The Wizards did a terrible job rebounding, as they let the Nets ruin their opportunity to win the game like when Mikki Moore missed both ft's, but Vince Carter got the board, or when Jason Kidd missed a 3, but saved it out of bounds by hitting it off Jarvis. The final statline was the Nets boarded 55, 17 more than the Wizards.

On the bright note though, if that Arvis Hayes learns to keep his jumper up though, he may earn his J back, lol. But what an amazing career night for him with 29 points, he looked as if he couldn't miss. That's the type of scoring that we need from our role guys now that Arenas and Butler are gone.

It's important now that we keep building on the team's game going towards the playoffs and build the role players' confidence up. As long as we get 2-3 more games before the season ends, we should be in the playoffs.

Pippen and Jordan were the last two teammates to both get triple-doubles in the same game in 1989, and they only beat the lowly Clippers 126-121, so maybe there's a trend there...

Still, kind of sad that Vince has one of the most monstrous games of any player this season, Kidd gets one with 18 assists and 16 boards, and RJ scores 27, but we still barely beat the Wiz (but then again, they gave the Cavs a run for their money last night).

Anyway, lets see Merc criticize VC after this performance

The guy is a great player when he wants to be. He will have one good game, and then take a break for the next few games. The dudes attitude is inconsistent, so that's why I criticize him. He can play on a high level, but he has those days where he doesn't feel like it.

All I can say is great stuff by Vince and Kidd, but the Wizards really played very well. Props to Jamison and Hayes with the scoring, and a good job by AD dishing out the rock again.

I bet VC can do this just about any night he wants to

Kidd and Carter = Pippen and Jordan?

Looks like Kidd isn't the only one who could get a triple double on this team.

Umm yea. You didn't know?

On a side note, how many triple doubles does Carter have? No sarcasm at all, I just really want to know.

<div class="quote_poster">Legacy Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Less than Kidd has this season. I think around 2-6.</div>

Carter has 3 in his career. Even with the win, it's something not to be proud of. The Nets needed an extra 5 minutes to beat a team without it's frontman.

Truth is, the only difference is that Vince made shots. That's it. He's been playing the same way all year. Taking fadeaway jumpers. I'm not surprised with the 10 assists. He's been trying to find the open man lately. Although the 16 boards was impressive. But that kind of a performance from Vince will only lead him to settle more with his outside shots. The Nets has practically lived and died with his fadeaway jumpers. And that only proved disaster for the 36-40 and barely hanging Nets.
