PORTLAND WILL PLAY UTAH, IF:
1. Portland loses to Golden State

2. Dallas loses to San Antonio

3. Utah wins at Golden State and vs. Phoenix (back-to-back)

4. Denver loses at Phoenix

*2-7 Matchup
----OR----
1. Portland beats Golden State or San Antonio loses at Dallas

2. Denver loses at Phoenix

3. Utah wins at Golden State and vs. Phoenix (back-to-back)

*3-6 Matchup

No kidding. I couldn't get through the only scenario I was interested in....how to avoid Utah (of whom we're 0 and 6 against counting pre-season).

Great original post of this thread, and after tonight, I'll take a look at it again.

It just seems like bad karma (the whole season has been bad karma) that we'll end up facing Utah, who's dominated us in 6 games this season.

let me explain it to you using one line as example.

GS = Golden State won the game against Utah
PHO = Phoenix won the game against Denver
DAL - Dallas beat the Spurs
PHO = Phoenix beat the Jazz

then after that its the teams seed with their record. So Dallas is the 2 seed with a 55-27 record. Its not that hard to understand for people that know how to read numbers!

Well idk about you, but I am pretty bored between now and when the games start on TNT tonight... so why not look at these numbers and see which outcome you would like and then cheer for one team to win each game. It makes watching these important games even better to me.

Hell I just watch them because I like to see the bad blood brewing early. Last night when they were interviewing Billups, one of the reporters mentioned Denver hasn't won in PHX in the last 6 years. Even the press is into stirring the pot and getting the bad blood going. My guess is Denver/PHX is one hell of a game. The matchups are great, both teams like to get out and run a little bit, and both teams fighting for home court. It doesn't get much better.

I agree but I am not a big fan of the NBA. I follow it so close because thats the only sport our city has but if we did not have the Blazers I would not be able to follow the NBA and its pathetic officiating and the way the sport is run. I need a little incentive to watch random NBA games over baseball (my favorite sport) the last few games of the regular season. I would puke to have to watch the Mariners play tonight. I wish my Cardinals games were shown out here, MLB.tv FTW
