Shit. Don’t like it because Giles can’t make threes.
There's a difference between a C not being able being signed to a minimum and a SF being signed to the Full MLE. Didnt know if you realized that.

I wish we were able to sneak a second year team option.

I read he'll miss the first couple months....come back late Jan or early Feb but that's if no setbacks occur. I"m just assuming he's going to be out until spring as far as the rotation..it wasn't the Athletic but another article...those injuries take 3-8 months to recover from and he had the surgery in Sept...hopefully Collins is not made of glass.

The one thing I really know about this dude is that he's a really good passer for a big man. 15% assist percentage for his career. Averages 3.5 per 36 minutes.

So I just read he's battled knee problems...? Welcome to Portland!

Seems like a great deal for him though, but like others have said it probably means Gabriel is gone which sucks. I really liked his hustle last year.

Some thoughts:
1) Love the idea - a supertalented, but injury-racked player on the cheap. If he can recover from
his injury riddled past, we get a top of the lotto pick quality player for just a roster spot.

Sounds like an even lower risk Michael Porter Jr, in terms of acquisition cost.

Get back to me when you have a 15 year old daughter.
Oh that’s right, you would have to actually have interaction with a human female........ #BAM

Woody Allen alert!

BAE still intact

I won’t be surprised if the BAE ultimately goes to Melo. With the roster at 14, I could see NO being done for now - NO seems to like to maintain an open spot for flexibility. Barring another trade, anyway...

Not quite. It was awful considering who we could have picked over Caleb.

Excuse me? Are we still acting like passing on two all-stars and a few other near all-star level players wouldn't have completely changed the direction of the team (and Dame's prime)? Zach, even on his best days, is not nearly as good as Donovan Mitchell or Bam Adebayo.

You are excused. With our luck, they would become injured, too!

His court vision is real. I really wish we could have signed him to a longer deal, because I don't think he will play much this season, but he's got a ton of potential.

I don't know if you're suggesting that Zach's issues are all related to his injuries, but it's quite a stretch to say he could have the same amount of impact as the other two guys if he was never unlucky.

No, I'm saying that it FEELS like everyone to come to Portland gets injured. It's mostly a joke.

His neck is as long as Chris Bosh's

I love this signing, Harry Giles was the projected number 1 pick in the draft years ago but he had a lot of injuries.

Talent is still there though and he's only 22.

Too bad it's only a 1 year deal, i'm sure he will thrive in our system and then he will sign for big money elsewhere
