for the trade kicker:

Brian FromWA ‏@brianfromwa
@dwightjaynes A trade kicker can max out at 15% of rest of the contract value. So MAX it'll be 6.75M if traded this year. Then 5, 3.2, 1.7

@dwightjaynes Bigger problem? MIN physically cannot make an offer to Nic that the league won't shoot down for lack of cap space. MIN @53.6M

@dwightjaynes if POR matches, why would they trade him? Trade kicker's meaningless to them. I get that S&T offer might've gone up, though.

Thanks for the info on the trade kicker. Repped.

Well we got some smart MotherFuckers anyway.

"When/if Webster & Miller waived, only guaranteed $ stays on books during 7-day waiver process. Miller has $1M and Webster 800K guaranteed"

If a player is waived with non-guaranteed salary, his non-guaranteed salary comes off the team salary when he clears waivers. per cbafaq

?

Quicker seems like he's sick and tired of this entire fiasco.

Like both fanbases.

Sounds right but it must be because of the old cba. BFW has provided plenty of evidence as to why it couldn't be reflecting the existing cba rules.

@BrianFromWA @jwquick Wrong. If a player is waived with non-guar salary, his non-guar salary comes off the team salary when he clears @LarryCoon ‪#FAQ63‬

Brian is like some kind of Super Nerd Hitman or something!

You need to ask for his source also because he's obviously doing his research also. I'd like to know where he is getting his information.

Quick is a fucking moron! He is probably getting his info from an expired box of CrackerJacks!

Can't remember if you already answered this in another post Brian, but since when you amnesty a player they have to go through waivers also, does Darko's not come off until he clears also?

Maybe Quick asked Cronin.... We don't have the 2011 CBA so this could be a change. It doesn't make any logic sense for the NBA to tie up cap space for 7 days for salary that cannot ever go back on a teams cap.

He knew about the amount of the guaranteed portions of the Webster and Miller contracts. That's not easy to find.

yeah, that's how I read it.

Amnesty is a one-time opportunity for teams to release one player via the waiver process.
The rest of question 67 talks about the mechanics of setting up bids and how much for, etc....but it doesn't say anything about a reduced waiver period or none at all. :dunno:

MIKE DUNLEAVY.

PER 16.66.

I'm thinking this is what Batum is going to basically end up as, a French Version of Mike Dunleavy.

32 year old Dunleavy has always been horrible at defense, which is of course a very important part of the game that Batum excels at. On the occasion of MD being healthy, an offensive effectiveness comparison of his game and Nic's is pretty valid. But of course he was always injured which is in part why is career PER is only 14.6... his best year ever was at age 27 when he posted a 17.3 PER which is what Nic had this past year at age 23

you should be certain he will be an allstar. otherwise, not worth the money. not going to be an allstar.

you tried to ask a rhetorical question but actually it was more speculative. Big time scorers and winners make the All Star game. Nic will never make the game as a scorer but it's not unreasonable to think that he could be a big part of a dominant team... but thats not just up to him. Without question his game would have to ripen with time like his idol Scottie Pippen's game did for that to happen and his team mates will have to improve. He is a young player trending up though

I disagree. Portland will not suck for several years, in fact depending on Lillard, they have a decent chance to get into the playoffs this season. As for the future, spend it on who? What high end FA wants to come to Portland?

If they would have took Sloan a bit more seriously, I would have agreed with this.Discussing the job with him as courtesy a to him and the fans that craved for him and never really taking him seriously is ridiculous. Sloan probably could get this roster into the playoffs.

nope. Although we've never been in the same place at the same time...

Didn't Sloan want some control over the groceries, though? I don't think it was Olshey kicking him to the curb. :dunno:
